Comp question. Interviewing at Facebook (Meta) for Growth Marketing Manager role, remote/Hybrid in NYC. Meta Recruiter said base $145k, bonus, $65k equity & Base was not negotiable. However this seems a bit lowball. Compared to 180+ base I’ve seen on Glassdoor and base Meta shared for the role for those from Colorado ~157k, the base is low given higher cost of NYC living. Is it possible to negotiate this to be closer to the 157-160k range? Currently a growth manager, 6+ years exp in marketing.
Gave interview at Microsoft back in June for a SWE role. Cleared all 4 rounds and got verbal confirmation, documentation mail etc but after that they just vanished. Recruiter never picked up calls and no response from them.
Has anybody had a similar experience like mine even at FAANG level companies?

Consulting firms do well in recessions, don’t stress :)

Let’s not extrapolate what I said. I never said firms are bulletproof.
The layoffs were primarily due to all the uncertainty with Covid. But in hindsight, most firms were more profitable during the time period, and had to aggressively hire to make up for the mistake. So even in this instance, firms did well.
No one is immune to layoffs, lol, I work at a pip factory. However, I absolutely will generalize that consulting firms do well during recessions, not once in a million events like a global pandemic.
Don’t know what’s happening with other firms. We have been super busy. Can’t get enough people!
