EY you can, expense up to $25 if you work 10 hours or more. you will get taxed for it as part of your income though

like

I mean now while we were home.

KPMG started this week. Criteria is pretty high

like

KPMG allows up to 20$ for 10hrs or more workd. I think EY does too

like

10 hours AND past 7:30pm = $25 taxable

like

I earn that every night at ey but people only use it during quarters and busy season.

like

EY and KPMG for taxable meal

like

Nope, KPMG if it’s in a team setting then it’s not taxed. Even virtual team setting is fine. Just set up some recurring “ team meetings” at 6pm for dinner

like

I didn’t think it was taxable if it you were working at the direction of a Partner past 7PM and for 10hrs?

like

You have to expense it under the OT Meal category other, as the non taxable option specifically says eating at EY office or client.

like

KPMG i know for sure

Pro Tip @ EY: Add multiple attendees to the OT Meal expense and the taxes get cheaper.

Yeah of course. That’s the joke.

Does pwc have overtime meal in place?

I have roughly 1.5 YOE at a top 10 firm, half in audit half in TAS, no CPA. I’ve applied to and received referrals for pretty much all big 4 and other 10 firms. For the ones who gave me a phone screen or first round interview, I was told they’d like me to have more YOE before considering me. Yet I see folks on here with 1.5 YOE in just audit getting senior roles in TAS at these same firms. I believe I’m personable and decent at interviewing. Any ideas on why I’m not getting any offers?

Any advice?: Just finished long term W2 freelance role (since Jan) + I also have a small 1099 side project that‘ll be finishing up in 2ish wks. If we are talking >10k on 1099 (i.e. not enough to justify filing for SCorp) + <160-200k on W2 — is there any real tax advantage of opening LLC vs paying me directly outside of the “protects personal assets if ever sued”, etc? Technically I *could* open LLC quickly b4 invoicing- but dunno if worth $ to do so for such small amount of 1099 coming in?

I currently work at a firm that pays above market. 12 YOE, people transformation ( culture, not ERP/tech implementation) background. Current total comp is about $140-150k, plus $20k unvested equity. Is this a reasonable salary expectation for my next role: $165-$180 total comp annually, something like: $150k base, 25% bonus, + $30k equity, $25k cash sign on to replace what I’m walking away from in outstanding equity and expected bonus payout for 2021.
