Asians won't get diversity points for hiring or promotions. All you need to know
Who are Asians? You mean East Asians, SE Asians, desi people? Middle East? Or some/all of the above?
What is considered consulting? Strategy, tech, etc.? Everyone is calling themselves a consultant these days.
How do you define “minorities”? Proportion compared to their composition within the wider population, or proportion compared to other races/ethnicity within the industry?
Which market are you talking about? North America, europe, or AP?
Anyway, for MBB in NA and ANZ, I notice that there are a good proportion of East Asians/SEA and Indian etc. at the bottom of the pyramid. However, only desi people are doing relatively well in leadership positions in terms of representation.
At associate Partner / Partner level at MBB, Asians are absolutely a minority and we are not closing the gap

Managers up? Nope!
In all fairness when a white dude says he finds Asian girls hot, the picture in his head is not--a majority of times--a brown girl with a bindi
Minority? Yes. No question there. Underrepresented minority? Also probably yes, but it depends on the exact firm.
I see a lot of Indians at my firm spread pretty evenly throughout the pyramid. East Asians/SEA nope, have a feeling the only way we get anywhere is for us to start our own companies.
Asians are pretty well represented as CEO’s at Kearney. 🤷🏻♂️
