I'm relieved to see pretty much all of your schools pay a stipend. I'm all for giving back, but there's a TON of time and effort that goes into coaching. Those folks absolutely deserve a little something.
Sports coaches get a stipend. Academic, like scholars bowl and robotics league, do not. . . Ya' gotta set your priorities
Of course they don't *rolls eyes*
Both are paid per our contract, however not all clubs are listed in our contract, but of course all sports are.
When I coached football in NYC, we got about $12,000 (250 hours of “overtime” hours. Overtime in NYC is called “per session.” Everyone gets the same amount per hour regardless of the activity. The hours vary.)
We’d give the volunteers $1000 or so from our money.
Which part?
This sheet shows the various hours per athletic activity. Varsity FB clocks in at 264 hours, while bowling gets 96. Each gets about $50 per hour. We put in way, WAY more than the allotted hours.

This is very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing.
They get stipends. If you run a club or take on detention duty you also get a small stipend.

Stipends.
If you do a club and meet at least 16 hours you get a stipend. Maybe like $300 or $350.
I love this question! Clearly you're not in Texas, where sports rule! Coaches get GOOD stipends, and can capitalize on that them by coaching multiple sports.
Yeah. Plenty of places where FB head coach makes more than the principal and plays golf all day in the off-season.
The teachers at my school who want to coach will just get paid a little extra for doing so.
The coaches at my school are paid and usually double as the health/gym teachers
I'm volunteer others get a stipend due to the number of coaches.
That’s not right! Can you do something about that?
My question is, are your coaches useful? We feel that they are simply in all of our meetings, and our questions are answered with administrative programmed rhetoric.
