I’m a Junior accountant, recent MBA grad in Finance, located in NYC, just got laid off due to a merger. Anybody hiring or know any opening positions?

I’m working as an associate at a mid-size firm of about 140 attorneys, but was just offered a position with an AM 100 as a staff attorney with the possible bump to associate within a year. Is this a good move? Billable hours and salary are the same the first year. Any advice is appreciated!

For more senior MBB folk (SM/EM/PL+) who exit to (non-technical) FAANG roles, do you need to be in the tech practice or does it not matter?

I got an offer in UBS pune with 20 lakh fixed CTC for AO role, plus 80k shift allowances + 2.5 lakh relocation.
Also have an offer from Capgemini Pune for Manager role 26.75 lakhs ( 24.2 lakh fixed + 2.5 variable).
YOE - 13 years. This is my first switch.

I was offered a promotion but due to internal policies the max comp they could offer was way under market value. I countered and was denied. I took time to think about it, being disappointed I applied for other jobs. Monday came and I decided to accept the offer. A week before starting my new position I got a call for one of the jobs I applied for. I am now going through to the last round of interviews the same week I start my new position. Would it be bad practice to accept another offer now?

I’m 25 and have been working for the same bank for 2 years. Started as a call center agent and moved into a supervisor role. Love the company but the pay is barely enough, I work 8-10 hours of OT a week to make enough for rent and living costs in Toronto (would work more but there is an OT cap). Confused if parents want schools to reopen or not? I read so many posts here about how difficult it is to work full time and manage kids’ at-home schooling (I can’t even imagine!) so would assume that means parents want to reopen, but at the same time keep seeing a ton of backlash from parents in states who are pushing to reopen due to safety reasons. What’s the general consensus?

Got a call from a recruiter for Dell Strategy today - she spent about 3 minutes on the phone and said “can you provide me 4 45 minute blocks for case interviews”. I feel like she didn’t really tell me anything about the role (she emailed me a JD earlier), or comp. I was so surprised at such a short call that I didn’t even get to asking about level or comp. anybody else have similar experience with Dell?
