Are companies you left likely or less likely to rehire you on a different team?

I wish I didn’t have to spend so much of my life asking my partners in other departments to do their jobs. That’s my daily complaint, thank you for listening.

How do you deal with some mild sexism at a startup that has no real HR?

Mild as in there’s just passing comments about me, I’m the only woman on the team, I’m steamrolled a ton in conversation and generally made to feel stupid/awkward. I’m fairly outgoing and outspoken as well, never felt this way at ANY company before.

How do you deal with tech-illiterate colleagues? A partner and a couple associates at my firm are so out-of-touch with tech and they're always asking me for help. I want to be helpful, but I also have actual work to get done.

Agreed to serve as local counsel for another attorney in my firm (different office). Answered complaint and then the case fell off the rails. Turns out firm has a conflict of interest that was missed in initial check, client has been instructed to retain a new attorney, court has ordered us to withdraw and client to produce documents by Wednesday. The small firm I work for has a terrible turn over rate and I think it is in part due to the firm owner/managing attorney. He seems oblivious to this and always finds fault with the people who leave. I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.
