Not very common at McK

They're not uncommon but in Consulting neither of those will help you unless you're in an Advisory function OR you're super niche and your clients are all financial institutions.

a CFA is very common in investment consulting

What is investment consulting? Sorry if that’s a dumb question

Depends.

On the type of consulting you focus on e.g. for Strat consulting you'll mostly see top MBAs but if you're more in the finance space plenty of professionals will have CPA designations. There are also plenty of people who started in big 4 audit earned their CPA and quickly realized it wasn't for them and now sit in some other consulting service line/ function.

Am I being naive? I am new to big law (recent joiner). I frontload my hours during the week so I can take off weekends as much as possible (so I can actually spend time with my partner who works overnights during the week). I am averaging 180-200 hours billables monthly (not counting admin hours). But I see so many posts here about pulling 80 hour weeks on top of weekends. I’m starting to worry that it’s being noticed if I’m not doing work on weekends and that will hurt me in my annual review.
