Do y’all get moved around from hall to hall? I’ve been moved so many times. I have 2 more years until I can retire.
What does your personal finances look like? Please share. Curious about whether I'm financially sound for my age group. I'll start.... Age: 30 Martial Status: Married, no kids Total annual comp w/ bonus: ~145k Current cash in savings: $25k Brokerage account: $5K
Is there a way to get closer to the 58000 total contribution limits in a 401k after initial contributions up the 19500 limit? My employer match isn’t great but I’ve maxed out my contributions this year and they’ve only added an additional 1500 so I’ll be at 21k total in the account for the year. How can I get more in there to bridge that 37k gap? Or can I?
Any ideas for a second career for a high school counselor? I plan to retire at 60 this year, but will need a job to supplement my retirement income until I get social security.
Been seeing many high to very high net worth people on here — are there other small potatoes just starting their financial journey? Here's mine: 2020: Reset ⚖️ Paid off all $30k cc debt in 6mths 2021: Adulting v1 🚀 No debt, living solo 💰 First 401k ($4.2k), $2k stocks, $6.7k in HYSAs 2022: Officially Adulting v2 💼 New job, +$30k increase 💰 First time budgeting w 401k/HSA/Roth IRA/HYSAs/emg funds maxed out & still have spare change 31F. HCOL. Slow & far from others, but we'll get there!
At what age are you planning to retire?
How much do you have in your savings? -Age/Rank/Location -401k/IRA -Savings account -Brokerage account
Giving notice this week. Run the numbers and think I can retire now. Super excited , nervous etc. I am 45. This could be my biggest mistake and my biggest achievement. Getting weird reactions...
So all the married couples that do split accounts - is one saving more than the other? Do you both retire at the same time? Or if the lesser salary person can’t afford to retire to you make them cont. to work? Or do you pay for them to retire as well?
Anyone ever stay at a firm they disliked just to wait for your 401k match to fully vest? Looking back, Is it worth the wait?
I've spent my entire career in tech and while it used to be exciting, great money, and fun, now the $$'s still good but role's nothing but Zoom meetings and slideware. I dream of leaving the house during daylight hours and working less than 60 hours a week doing something I love, but have no idea where and not ready to retire... Anyone else been in this position? What did you do and how did it turn out?
Ever since I joined this app I feel so trash about the (lack of) money I have saved lol. I’m 24 and only have 3k in the bank with a salary of 70k. I live at home but 50% of my salary goes to my mom to cover household expenses. The remainder goes to my student loans and my other bills. I’m only able to really save $500 a month ($150 into my 401k and the rest in IRA). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do better?? Idk how ppl have like 50k saved at my age fml
Happy that the stock market is falling apart so my 401k matching can more cheap S&P 500 shares
No promotion. No raise. Need performance improvement plan. And yet, made ~$550k/year last 4 years in a row as an investor. I should retire from consulting but don't know how to say no to free money.
I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?
Trying to figure out best 401k/IRA strategy. Does backdoor to Roth impact the $19k limit on 401k? How much do you backdoor/Roth vs continue to grow 401k? Any tips appreciated!
First year I'll max my 401k and roth IRA.. feeling accomplished but can't share with anyone in real life!

Which firm has the most 💙 on here?
TFW you write a really good email and just read it over and over again to feel the high. 🤓
What's senior 1 risk assurance salary? No Mba .
Anyone deal with a SO that has to travel a lot for work during the weekends? Dating this guy I really like but he travels a lot on the weekends for his career. It's hard that I barely see him.
