Are eCornell, Boston University courses any better in opening doors for entry into big tech. Currently at Big4 doing advisory and implementation (program management). Not from a dev background and have cloud and scrum certifications but the interview calls are still elusive

Tech couldn’t care less about an MBA. Source - hiring manager in tech strategy and ops with an MBA and no technical background.

Maybe it's your total YOE or how you framed your resume? From Deloitte, with your type of experience and certifications, I expect you to get the interviews. I don't think some online courses would help strengthen the case that much. I didn't have trouble landing similar interviews and BAH is less known than Deloitte. No grad school or certifications.

Really helpful BAH1, care to share a sample resume? I have 7.5 YOE and a 2 year MBA. Forgot to mention, Im on H1B. Could that be one of the reasons?

What is it you want to do at big tech?

TPM, PM kind of roles ?

Maybe the Cornell tech 1 year mba program?

Hey team requesting help with evaluating exit ops: 1.) Corp Dev role (VP). 200 base, 22% bonus and some bps of fully diluted float. Comes out to ~100k annually at current valuation. Not sure I’m 100% sold on the company growth opportunity...sleepy company / industry 2.) manager level at MBB. Dream job of sorts. Something approximating 200 /20% bonus. Opens a lot of doors long term. In short, trading near term upside for prospect of something better. Thoughts?

Will you suggest me to join there? Technology stack may be good for me but it will be new & challenging for me. I am scared to join there because of job security and work life balance can be dying ( I can stretch not daily?

In July I missed my promo to SM. A woman has been preferred even if she was underqualified (my MD's words), as at Accenture we have quotas for women. I'm interviewing with Deloitte, they told me I'll help building the practice. In the meantime I was assured by my MD that in December I'll get the promo. I don't really care changing company, even if I've built a network, I don't think I need to wait if I can. Your thoughts?

How do some of the Big 4/ACN levels compare to job roles and titles at Amazon? I’m a manager within the Accenture Security practice with strong focus on security compliance and risk. Trying to see which Amazon non titles would be equivalent to or above my Accenture role. If someone has a career path (analyst, senior analyst, mgr, sr mgr, etc) that would be helpful.

Interviewing with AWS as a L7 - however the automatic email said Senior Solution Architect (L6) when the Recruiter asked me to interview for Principal Solution Architect (L7) - Managerial. I've been taken for rides before where they over promise and then waste time throughout assessment etc. Passed all the aptitude tests and silly work and email tests pretty much just asking if anyone else have experienced this with AWS - is it a valid concern? Or am I being paranoid?

My sister works at a company that is so backward and toxic it scares me. They didn’t have Skype before the pandemic and now use Zoom. She’s trying to get a laptop to WFH with b/c the one that they issued her is from 2005 and is a nightmare to work with, but her boss wants to save money and get her a desktop instead of a laptop b/c they won’t be working from home after COVID. However, he has no problem ordering the newest equipment and WFH himself even before COVID. All I gotta say is toxic.

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
