Are employers being asked for more than just dates of employment on VOEs? I know that they also ask "would you rehire this employee" but is there any other information that is being asked? I am having issues finding new employment and I am now starting to believe that a former employer is speaking negatively about me.
Have a friend call them and act like HR from a competing firm. You’ll have your answer.
Even better if you have a lawyer friend LOL. Record the call.
I do not give any reference without the employee signed authorization. And I only do it in writing, never on the phone.
