Are federal clerkships really all that helpful in opening doors mid-career? How much do they elevate candidates for things like big law, fed government, etc?

Based on other posts for high income individuals, thinking of opening a traditional IRA and converting to Roth. I use Vanguard as my brokerage. Can someone suggest good funds to invest 6k in? With my prior Roth contributions, I have invested in VOO, VTI, VTIVX. Should I just split 6k across these three? I am 40 years old.

Hi folks, I recently applied for a new role in EMEA for a Specialist Solutions Architect. Got through n received an offer letter. But seems like the base is a bit lower than what i saw online in a couple of places (not sure of years of experience there though). Is it worth it to bring it up and ask the HM to raise an exception? I work as a membership manager in a tech-related, non-profit startup.Main tasks are taking care of members activities (newsletters, webinars, surveys, CRM - but not directly sales) and at the same time I am kind of a IT project manager without IT background, I design with an IT agency members experience with different tools (members platform, crm workflows etc). How could I boost my career towards the IT project manager role?

If there is a sought after Director for a practice being built up at PwC. Has there ever been a time that a director can go straight to partner if they have an external offer that is quite compelling ?

I have a few law friends who are going hard with the charitable campaign promos (i.e., UW, Red Cross). This is more a curiosity, but does your firm track associate contributions? Are associates expected to give $X?

Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. Is it okay to just “disappear” during the holidays (thanksgiving week, week of Christmas) and let partners and senior associates know I am not available? At this point I don’t care about making more money - I just want to sleep, read a good trashy book, and cuddle with my dog.
