All my McKinsey interviews last month were via zoom.

helpful

Don’t think we have any near-term plans to move interviews back in person (and expect if we did try this it would be much harder to get enough interviewers willing to run them…)

helpful

Bain - zoom.

helpful

OW- zoom

helpful

Zoom - firms are saying that the travel is not environmentally friendly

helpful

We are doing 100% virtual first rounds and offering in-person second rounds, but only about half the candidates can make it in person because of summer/travel/other internships and we are perfectly happy to interview remotely

helpful

Will likely offer a mix of remote and in-person, depending on school, geography, preference

helpful

I would be an experienced hire - so I’m hoping preference not to travel would allow me to be remote!

So, I fucked up a bit. Was interviewing with the recruiter and they asked me my rate — I went low as I had a number for a senior role. The problem was I forgot in the beginning of the meeting it was mentioned this was an ACD role. Can I go back to them with a more appropriate number for the role should I get the offer?

I have been doing freelance/independent contract graphic design for 3 years, and I’m looking to take a position as FTE now.

There are a few smaller agencies in my city that I specifically adore and i’ve reached out/applied to open roles etc. One of them I even have a friend at, she has told me they are dying for more designers right now, but also so busy they struggle to make time for the hiring process.

Does anyone have tips on how to get past this sort of wall?

If anyone is interested in taking a summer trip to Myrtle Beach from 7/29-8/5, I am renting out my timeshare with Marriott's OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes. This resort is right on the beach and offers many fun activities for the whole family! The two-bed, two-bath condo has a fully furnished kitchen and can fit up to 8 people. I am ideally looking for someone to rent it out for the entire week for about 3K total. Message me for more information!

Hi folks, I recently applied for a new role in EMEA for a Specialist Solutions Architect. Got through n received an offer letter. But seems like the base is a bit lower than what i saw online in a couple of places (not sure of years of experience there though). Is it worth it to bring it up and ask the HM to raise an exception? How much time will this take? Is it a risk? Already the entire process has dragged on cause of delays on recruitment's part etc. Any advice or insight would be helpful!

Has anyone been able to find a remote public policy job? I've applied so many places and interviewed a few times but I just keep getting turned down, it's very discouraging! I'm an older non-traditional engineer. My current job was an over the phone interview. I was raised with a suit in mind for interviews. What should I wear? Jeans and a polo? Khakis and a button down? I read that anything beyond dockers and a button down is a negative. Thoughts?

Question, when you know you made it to the final round and have had nothing but glowing feedback from the interviewers. How long do you expect to wait for an offer, rejection, follow up? This is a mid-senior management position which I am well qualified for. I am just new to the tech space.

Side note, we talked compensation and start date already.

I recently joined company A on an H1b. Because of the immigration team's mistakes, we had to re-file and it took almost 4months for me to join from the date of the offer. As this was getting dragged on, I interviewed at two companies (let's call them Company B and C). After I started at company A, I received offers from both of them with 30% more TC. If I accept one of these offers, that H1b transfer will take another 2months. Will resigning from A burn the bridges? How should I handle this?

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

Has anyone ever worked with BairesDev? Can you share you experience with me? I received an email where they sent me a link to take a test on a Friday afternoon and I had a packed weekend and did not take it until late Monday . The original job posting was already taken down by then. The required quiz was fairly straightforward but the other quizzes felt like LSAT questions where I had to diagram word problems, which I liked but wondered why I was answering these. Any success stories out there?
