Are interviews for Corp Strat/bizops at FAANG harder or easier than interviews for MBB?

I'm about to graduate from uni and have sadly just realised that the creative industries I like aren't going to pay enough, so I want to get into consulting. Ideally in areas like marketing/branding/digital rather than MBB

I have no consulting experience and I have accepted an internship offer at an advertising firm for this summer. What steps would you advise me to take to get into consulting? Also, I get to pick between strategy and accounts for the internship - would either be more useful?

Should I complain to a firm's HR if the interviewers laughed at my answer during an interview? Maybe it sounded scripted but it was still heartfelt and genuine: my immigration story and how that made me appreciate the rule of law. I said it soo many times during OCI's that maybe it eventually sounded robotic, but for the interviewers to laugh and one to say sarcastically "nice elevator pitch", I thought was rude. Thoughts?

I just had a first round interview with BCG, I did ok in one of the interview and did great in the other one. What are my chances of moving to the next round? More info: Based in Canada, there are two 45 mins interview for first round.

1 yoe as a business intelligence developer and just under 1 yoe as a Junior data engineer for a startup. My current company is in talks with me to hire me as a data engineer right after I graduate with my bachelors degree. From what I’ve seen online (averaging 5 different sites, I am including Glassdoor but only the number they have listed as the base) I’m currently expecting about 85k base. Does this seem too high? Just looking for some opinions before I go in for my interview.

35/m sole earner for a family with 2 kids. Want a life insurance with a ~$2m payout (to cover nice funeral, mortgage, kids college, spending money for the wife until she finds husband no.2 etc). A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. While promotion to MC at my current company is at least 1 year away. The job is interesting to me and fits my careery goal. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?

Was at dinner with my mom yesterday and we got into an argument about me not wanting to tell her how much my salary is. I had no problem telling my parents right out of college but just feel kind of weird about it as I progress in my career. Are FAANGs on a hiring freeze for software engineers?

Left McKinsey for a Fintech corporate last year. Really disappointed to see bonuses given out (cash is equivalent to half month salary, equity vested over 5 yes also not great) after getting the 5/5 rating and business doing well overall. Doubting my decision to come to industry. Is this the norm? Feels really low as historically variable has been a big enough component for me to pay down loans/invest.
