People accepted counter offer and got higher pay and raise again. Should I also do this? Is it ethical? I’m in tax NYC office.
Was invited to apply for a lateral in another group at my company - transactional (I’m in lit now). I have a lot of experience in what I do now and am getting good development opportunities within my group. However, I’ve been passed over for a deserved promotion 3 times and am doing work two salary bands above where I am now. I enjoy the transactional work even though I have less experience in it, and it would be a great resume builder. I am not great with risk taking/change. Wwyd?

What does each firms performance review process look like? I’ll kick off - we have individual case reviews after each case and each 6 months we have a formal consensus review process where all seniors in the level above you discuss each candidate and their rating / promotion decision if they are up for promotion. We also have these mini consensus reviews at the 3 months mark as well within these 6 months to discuss off cycle promotions. What do you like / dislike about yours?
Is your company doing annual raises this year? If so, what’s the typical annual raise (%)?
If you started working at a company for like a year as a staff level, for example 2019-present, and this is reflected on LinkedIn, do you guys update any promotions to show it as (the date or year of promotion) -present... or just show it as 2019-present? I’ve seen people do the latter more but is that even right?

Hi fishes, I am currently a staff 3 at EY GDS and got confirmation on my promotion. I will be a S1 effective from october and i got the exceptional performer rating. But i have 3 YOE with 8 LPA and i received an indirect hint that my hike wont be good. Please let me know your thoughts? How much can i expect in terms (%) increment this year based on the promotion? Is that even dependent on the promotion? And should i look for other opportunities considering the YOE and current package?
Currently interviewing for a designer role at Tesla - wanted some advice. The hiring manager has seemed uninterested and always dropped off interviews early and without answering any of my questions. He also mentioned that he's lost 4 designers from the team recently (red flag!). I think it'd be a cool role, but it sounds like I'd be the only designer and there's not a ton of support, BUT if I do well - lots of room for growth and promotion. Plus internal transfers after a year also an option?

I recently posted about moving to Antigua and Barbuda to live and work remotely on the digital nomad visa. Several people expressed interest in how I'm doing it, so I created an instagram. I'm documenting the steps of emigrating including pet import licenses, enrolling kids in an international school, cooking local food, and assimilating to life in the Caribbean. For those who are interested, check me out at: https://www.instagram.com/webelongbythesea/

Well fuck. I got laid off. Just when you think you’re in the clear, 2020 brings the pain. Guess it’s true that the big title comes with a big target.

Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!
