Are most people still targeting 20%+ increase to jump from public to industry? I found a job that seems kind of interesting but it would only be a 10% jump, which will likely be my raise in public this year. The recruiter said 8–10% is pretty typical in my area.

I jumped 40% or so. In audit for reference. Recruiters just wanna place you to get a paycheck, you can’t trust anything they say

like

Maybe it’s because you’re a manager already. The jump is higher when you leave as a senior.

like

Mine was from $110k to $160k.

Of course, if you're an M3 you might be at $145 so 10% gets to $160?

like

I jumped 65%!

like

I'm kind of expecting no increase tbh. Going from mcol to extreme lcol(one of the lowest in the nation) and there is no way in heck I'll get that big of a jump. Just keeping current salary is the goal for me.

Well then the COL difference is your increase….

Do you still negotiate? Should you rarely every take the first initial offer?

I work at a Financial Institution and have recently been approached about a Director role with my prior company. It’s a great opportunity but I have 2 young kids (Preschool/Elementary ages) and I don’t want to sacrifice time with them for career advancement. I would love to hear from working moms in senior leadership roles to understand if it’s possible to balance both, or is it best to wait a few more years? Not happy currently and looking to move, but unsure of pursuing lateral vs. a promotion

What banks are actively recruiting? Trying to land an analyst job. Might end up taking a pay cut but I’m willing to do it for the future ops.

Can I think of switching the company after 6 months and expect 90k-100 from the next company?

When you leave, does it make a difference to companies if you made it through at least a busy season as a senior or just that you have the title? I did have some experience this year as an A2 where I split some of the senior responsibilities with the manager. However, I’m worried if I leave before busy season, companies will see that as really just being an associate.
