Hi I currently working as an Underwriting Associate been in the this role for 6 months now. I am thinking ahead on my Career Path as an underwriter. When is the right time to pursue promotion. I love the team I’m on but it does not seem to any promotional opportunities anytime soon. I have goals to move up in the corporate ladder to a leadership position. Any advice such as any designation or if I should go into a Graduate program. I currently have a degree in Economics from Uconn. Aetna

About to ask for a raise on Friday for the first time in my life! 28 yrs old and worked in the industry for 4 yrs before joining advisory in Jan. Also have an MBA. I'm in the field of operation/supply chain. Already did my research and have a number in mind. Interested in getting your thoughts on this. What do you think it's a reasonable number to pay someone with my background?

Can just speak for my firm: If you have pissed off someone enough that they would actively vote against you that is a huge red flag for the firm. Partners have the right to abstain though (still might not look good if you have worked for that person a lot).
Been there tho. Pissed a Manager when I was A1 and 4 years later she is still pissed. Funny thing is, looking back, I was a model employee and my career has gone great since she fired me, so I get that sometimes its not even your fault.
I think it might depend on who you piss off, someone with pull, will be a red flag and might even swing more votes against you, someone thats just batshit might not raise a flag (but if they have influence they might still swing votes)
When someone is up for partner, do they get to respond to allegations if someone wants to vote against them/says bad things about them?
That makes sense. I am a junior so that's a long way away for me... If it ever happens!
