Looking for advice/input:

I’ve dealt with ADHD my entire life, although was just diagnosed last year. Throughout my career (assurance>industry>consulting), I’ve been able to “outwork” everyone else in the office to counter the lack of focus and other associated faux pas associated with the disorder. Recently have hot a point where I can’t put in the hours (3 yo/fam), and my work has taken a major hit. Anyone in consulting/assurance have any methods for managing this when it comes to PM duties?

I’d like to have a better idea of how much time should be estimated on top of design tasks.

I’m looking at our historical data to create baselines for how resources are budgeted and spent on projects.

What percent of a design project should be spent on management and operational tasks?

I have this broken down into, client communication, internal communication, and project setup / maintenance. What else should I track?

Anyone here with market understanding of salary and trends in PM and more broadly business management / operations in Canada? I’m looking at Dir of PMO and Chief of Staff / special projects roles in CAD but have no idea what base compensation is and my experience and networks is all US based. Interested in tech and social impact but otherwise industry agnostic (I come from agency)

More often than not, PM owns the tasks of ensuring their team and agency log their time, but I argue that it is not our sole responsibility. Finance and Leadership often stray away from penalizing offenders. Other than including job numbers in subject lines, statuses and meeting invites, how do you encourage your teams to log tine weekly (regularly)?

What does your workload look like and or how many projects are you managing at any given time? Just wondering, as I have been interviewing and companies seem alarmed at how much work I am managing

Producer (social/some integrated) to product management (non technical)? I’ve been in social advertising for 4 years as a manager but did UX for a bit. I love managing teams but falling out of love with the work/life balance of advertising. Is it possible to pivot to tech again and also is the work life balance better? And if so courses I should brush up on? TIA!

Would love some thoughts on what title structure makes the most sense for my agency /translates within the advertising industry. Our Project Management dept was pretty flat until recently. We’ve build out a real team — I’ll be getting promoted to an associate director level (I’d say that — that’s not what we call it) — and I want to make sure this title makes sense. Now would be the time to change it within our dept if we’re ever going to. Currently we have: (see comments)
