No firm can afford sustained poor performance by partners . But getting a partner out is a long and painful process . Most often other partners find a way to find them a role in industry
McK is always culling... although sometimes it takes too long. Known d’bags hang for way too long here.

Yes. The pressure is full on for PPMDs to sell and deliver, not making numbers results in being demoted and likely terminated.
Yes, but it’s a lengthy process. Where you’re at will, a partner is a part owner of the firm. It takes a team to build a case over some time, a recommendation of leadership, and a ratifying vote. Unless otherwise an emergent threat to the whole, this process isn’t done with too much regularity... hence why sm sucks

I've heard of a partner being removed from signing rights of a contract, but still involved as an advisory partner - dont think he was granted a share of profits of the contract, but paid a fixed sum (just like any other staff). Not sure why tho.
