I have 3.5 YOE out of undergrad. Pm track the whole time. It all depends on your industry and project experience. I started in my first pm role at 54k, and am making 147k base before any merits. I worked with PM's that are making 300k on 40 hours a week due to their niche skill set. The only ceiling imo is what you are willing to learn to manage
Also my position now is full remote so LCOL all the way :)
There is a ceiling, but it’s a good way to get into the door and move up to product and then leadership. Technical project management has a longer runway but still not as lucrative as product.
What do you consider lucrative? I’ve had Senior PMs on my team making 170k base and 30-45k bonus’s. higher than senior pm we have “Delivery Executive” roles usually 15+ YOE making anywhere from 200-350k base and bonus.
Well PMs at SAP with 4-5 YOE are making between 85-95k base 6-8yoe around 120-140k base
No SAP doesn’t really adjust by cost of living/city. Mainly because they basically let you live wherever you want as long as you can get to the customer location if travel is applicable. I used to be in PMO and at 3 YOE was at 83k with 9.5k bonus in a MCOL type area.
Do you want to keep doing audits forever? I would argue the salary outlook for project manager is better than auditors
Depends on your responsibilities, industry, location, etc. hard to really say.
You could come into consulting as a cyber audit person and probably get 105 rn
