Does anyone work in the travel/hospitality industry?

I’m not going to be able to attend my close friend’s wedding due to all the uncertainty around COVID restrictions. Other mutual acquaintances (also living abroad but different country) will be attending. I’m having a hard time mustering courage to let my friend know. They will be disappointed and possibly upset, but I know it’s not a practical and/or wise decision. What should I do?

My family wants me to come visit them for the past 2 yrs. But I don’t feel comfortable due to covid. They’re not very covid conscious and I’ve expressed this concern, but they don’t seem to get it and take it really personally when I say no. Any advice on how to navigate? Of course I want to see them but I also want to be safe.

I am new to consulting (A1 with less than 1yoe) and I am also newly pregnant. I was struggling pretty hard with the long hours before I got pregnant, but now I can barely function. I’m so exhausted and sick all the time. I’m not comfortable telling my manager (or anyone except for my spouse) about the pregnancy at this early stage. Can I get some advice for how to survive consulting from people who have worked this job while pregnant?

Any advice on how to get comfortable leaving your puppy behind as you return to office? Yes I am aware of doggy day care but it’s quite pricey for me. I aim to take my dog on a morning walk before 8 am and then we go for another walk at 530pm and then then late at night. This is while I am working from home. Maybe it’s more of an issue with me than him but I just feel bad leaving him back but realize that it’s something I need to do. Advice?
