Are roles in large established FMCG (Unilever, P&G, Mondelez etc) still a good training ground for people early in their careers?

I ask as I'm looking for my next career move. However my friend has mentioned that a lot of them have frequent restructuring as they follow the zero-based budgeting methodology in a time when they are pretty mature.

Was wondering if any fishbowlers have insight or work in large FMCG, who could shed some light.

I currently work in hardware technical sales as a Senior Sales Engineer, OTE $110-120K with 1.5 YOE. Industrial automation equipment for a large player in the space. Software sales seems appealing due to remote work, more flexion, and higher pay comps.

Any advice on how I should start to structure/build my experience for a move? Anyone have similar experience in switching and have recommendations on companies I should target?

I am getting a good project in current company where there will be lot of learning
Initially it will be manual and then it will have automation testing. At the same time I have an offer in another company with good package but there won't be much learning compared to the current company project I am yet to get locked. Is learning important and priority for 4.5 years of experience? Or better to go with the high package offer? (Other company offer is from TCS). Your valuable comments would help.

I did it everyone. Accepted a new job this past week. Salary is 30% higher and if you factor in bonuses between PA and new job, in total it would by like 45% higher than staying at EY. Weird feeling knowing I don’t have a busy season coming up.

At what point in my career would my public accounting salary exceed an industry salary? Current an A3 making 54,900. In industry it looks like Senior is at 75,000. Assuming 12% annual raises in public and 3% annual in industry, it looks like maybe it wouldn’t take too long. I’ve heard industry raises are nowhere near what they are in public. Really looking for a discussion here. In industry, it almost seems like they tempt you with a big starting salary, but then soon you’ll be under public.
