Choose a side hustle that's fulfilling, excel at it, adapt and adjust, keep it going, it's your baby, help it grow. Get it go the point you make nearly just as much $ as your full time job, or comparable hourly rate. Then pivot.
Agree stocks and rentals. Rentals have been my investment far and away. Honestly just want to have 50 and quit everything else :).
Can you share a bit about how many you have and how you got started? What types of properties? What kind of geo location? Have you experienced any major setbacks like expensive fixes? How do you find people to do maintenance, etc?
For those who said rentals, How do you thing the rental market will be doing in the next year?
People always need a place to live. Always. Home ownership isn’t even more expensive.
I have higher end rentals. Tenants are in IT, business owner, doctors. Not foreseeing any issues with payment.
Do anything you like. Don't ask permission.
Worth it, don't rely all on your employer. The world is slowly shifting towards a gig economy and you may need multiple sources of income

I agree with everyone here - part time landlord and a nice cloud / tech stock portfolio should help you make some nice and dependable side money. Anything else would have to be more of a hobby / interesting first.
