Are tech companies generally willing to sponsor employees to take on roles outside of their own country? Live in the US currently but I want to get more of a global perspective, so I was hoping I could try living in Europe or Asia for a bit.

Amazon does this.

They do…? When I talked toAmazon last they lost their shit when I said I wanted to be based out of lansing and not Detroit. Was a role that was with aws….

I don’t have much of an answer but I can share some knowledge here. In Europe, you can stay for 90 days without needing a visa but certain countries like France have very strict labor laws. I would do research on specific work-friendly countries and/or extended stays without needing a visa. It’s a lot of paperwork. It would be a tremendous experience though

Yes! You just have to be diligent enough to look for a tech company that does this. Good luck!

I have similar goals, let’s see how it unfolds.

I’m also looking for this. Austria, Sweden, Germany, Lichtenstein are my main goals and my secondary interests are in: Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary

I’m negotiating my salary, and I’m curious what a reporter/digital editorial lead makes at your company? I have 15+ years of experience in employee communications and TV news, and I live in the Seattle area. I think I’m being shortchanged bc I’m asked to do some of my previous manager’s responsibilities (he was promoted), but I’m paid as a reporter. I report to my director who reports to our SVP, and I’ve worked for this Fortune 20 company for 10 yrs. Any info would be helpful. Thank you!

For some people looking to get into ketosis for performance, but struggle with staying in it:
i recently worked with a research team investigating the effects of ketone esters (a drink). They are better than their alternative form (ketone salts usually cheaper and has contaminants). You take it about an hour before you workout or do your activity. Its good for endurance, cognitive function, and there is hints that it helps muscular endurance activity. (**I dont work for a supplement company).

Received a written offer from Amazon 4 wks ago, pushed for higher level, reinterview. HM supported it but couldn’t get it done. My og offer went from start date of oct 10 to Jan 3rd. Recruiter said the numbers are locked. I couldn’t reach the HM. Running out of time I accepted. I contacted the HM again saying yay! I accepted. I Have been ghosted for 5 days. Recruiter said background check should come via email soon. Haven’t seen anything. Weirdest experience ever. Why wouldn’t the HM reply?

Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I feel like going to my boss and refusing to continue to do these extra tasks without extra compensation. Am I being a baby about this?

For those of you who got into FAANG or other tech company as a dev (swe, DS, DevOps, etc...) How did you word/express your resume to show that you worked on an internal product/platform?

I feel like there's a lot of client facing dev roles or dev roles that rotate a lot of projects. I think real tech companies have a bias towards devs from consulting companies due to this... But I've personally been working on a long term platform at Deloitte.
