Are the partners that you interview with during a lateral callback generally the ones you’ll end up working with? There were a few partners I would have liked to interview with but didn’t get to and I wonder if that means they weren’t interested or don’t have a need.

No. Sometimes there’s particular partners interested in meeting a particular candidate, but a lot of times it’s just a general need for the practice group and the in-firm recruiter just rounds up whoever is available that day. But once you get the offer you are totally within your rights to ask about whether there’s particular partners you’ll be slated to work with, whether so and so has a need, etc. Take their answers with a grain of salt but generally if you proactively reach out to partners and say you’re interested in their practice they are happy and will try to find something to staff you on.

My interview experiences varied. I met with all the partners in my prospective group with two firms (v10 and v50) and met only the partners I would likely work with at the outset at another (v20). During the interview process at each firm, I asked which partners I would likely work with. You can always ask.

I’ve been having a super hard time concepting lately, especially knowing that the “concept” will mostly serve as a sticker to slap on the cover of a CVA and the top of a website. I feel like every pharma concept I’ve ever seen or created becomes so cheesy once it appears in tactics. Does anyone have any examples of HCP creative (non-DSA) that is both impactful and translates well into pharma tactics?
