I don't, but when I was at a small firm one of our of counsel attorneys lived in Spain. He was a trademark attorney. Living. The. Dream.

I would looove to know if anyone made the transition and now works in Italy. I think the issue for many besides licensure is the delta in salary. My understanding is that average lawyers in italy make money like a midwest county government lawyer in the usa.

How do some partners have hundreds of unread emails in their inboxes? Granted we are a small firm with a copy everyone on everything policy— but when our principal misses something, the excuse is always: I have 700+ unread emails. Umm… if everyone is copied on everything, I manage to have zero unread before I shut down for the day, boss. 🤷‍♂️

Taking the exam in a week (first attempt). Have a second one scheduled 16 days after so using this as a more of a practice run. But right now is my time better spent on:
1) finishing the final chapters in TTP (Geometry/Functions) or
2) repping as many OG problems as possible?

For context got a 710 (Q44 V44 - left one quant question unanswered) on a an OG Mock today.

Hi PPC Guru’s

I recently started a local store visit campaign but it’s not allowing me to optimize towards store visits. My Google rep doesn’t know what she’s doing I swear, she’s not had any answers and she’s the one the recommended we utilize this ad type. Any ideas why it’s not letting me optimize towards this? Get directions is what I currently have it set as and we are getting conversions but we really want the store visits. Thanks so much!!

Cahill Gordon announced earlier today. Inappropriately only commended the efforts of mid-levels and senior associates in the email and noted they had to deal with challenging circumstances. They gave mid-levels and seniors above market bonuses. As if they partners couldn’t be clearer they want juniors to leave. Bye Felicia.

My pediatrician thinks my exclusively breastfed 2 month old has a cow’s milk protein allergy. My questions to anyone who has been through this before are: 1.) how long after giving up dairy did you see an improvement in your little one?, 2.) did you also give up soy?, 3.) what happens if you accidentally eat soy or dairy in a very small amount? In example, I accidentally had soy today when I used 1tsp of liquid aminos in my stir fry at lunch., 4.) did baked goods made with milk upset your baby?

I just made the switch to my new firm about 3 months ago and the partner and I have not gotten along. I’m a second year in lit, and most of his associates are more senior so he expects us to run point but during the interview I told him I still need a little mentoring. Now, every misstep I make he kills me for it. Should I make a move now or wait it out hoping it gets better?

I am billed out at between $500-600/hour, bill about 2,000/year and make just over $200k/year. If I went out on my own, I can charge $275/hr, bill 30 hrs/week, leaving 20-30 hours for Admin and business development and gross $430k. I imagine after expenses (no office but subscriptions etc.), I would still come out ahead. Am I missing something? Corp/transactional practice.

Seeking some candid advice:
I am relatively new to the legal community (roughly 1.5 years). I work in insurance and I first believed my frustrations/dissatisfaction involving my current role stemmed from my inability to effectively capture my time, especially when my 10-15 hour days (and long weekends) would produce minuscule results. After consulting with my external legal community, I turned my billable hours around (virtually overnight). (continues in comments)...

My wife is pregnant. Joining a new firm that offers 128 hrs of PTO. Taking more than a week off has to be approved but they said two weeks is always fine if you have your calendar covered. I’m assuming this will be all the time I can take off when the baby comes. Despite seeing how my prior firm was with time off (typical law firm policy) my wife thinks I’ll get extra “paternity leave.” I can ask, but I already know the answer. How do I help her understand my situation?
