Hi, in cyber (GTM US team, HQ in EMEA) and we don't offer paid military leave.

like

Intel does, I believe. Not specifically cyber security, though I'm sure they have a division.

Hmm none that I know of. I will ask around for you and see if anyone in my network knows of a place.

Not particularly sure about this. Is the military leave for you or someone else?

How to break the phone habit???

I was never a big phone gal (forgetting it at home ignoring it for hours) until COVID. It hit 6 months after my husband lost his dad and he has always been pretty screen dependent. Because shit was heavy and I didn’t want to push (plus I was locked inside with him) I just started echoing his habit of picking up my phone.

I went into private practice this year and I have a TERRIBLE habit of picking up my phone when stressed. I HATE it. (con’t)

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

Hello all!

Changing from Vacation and Sick Time to just plain PTO starting in Jan. Staff can save up to 40hrs of their accrued Sick Time banks to use in 2022 in addition to their new PTO.

We have a part-time employee with more than 40 sick hours who will try to use as much of their Sick Time as they can before Jan 1. If this person has an avg weekly schedule of 17.5 hrs, can we stop them using sick time if their sick + work time will take them over their 17.5 scheduled hours?

Thanks!!

Hi! I requested a raise in late august and am still waiting on confirmation. Last update was 3 weeks ago from my boss who said he put in the request and is still waiting on approval. I can’t help but think they’re just delaying until the new quarter which is the normal raise period. Is a month and a half a long time to be waiting for this? And if it is approved is it reasonable for me to ask for “backdated pay” to when I originally asked?

Wondering what y’all would do to help get management from a 1980 mentality onboard for hybrid schedules? My company has a lot of long-tenured leaders, which is great, but they are living in the past with the lack of flexibility, and we’re losing candidates for openings, as well as starting to have more employees quit because we’re required to be onsite, when a lot of our jobs could be hybrid. What do you think could work?

Am I really having to deal with this, really?? How do you deal with immature behavior? Aren’t we all adults? Spoke to the custodian who cleans the bathroom “well if she didn’t explode the bathroom every time she uses it then I wouldn’t need to use as many chemicals.” [comments]
