company retained me and deployed me to a new project again have to join 8:30 pm to 10pm meetings.

Is this mandatory to work these timings?

Been at my current company for the past 5+ years, however I am looking to pivot my career into something more project, creative, and people oriented. I have a passion for helping others and seeing how my work makes a difference. I’d love to break out of the financial services industry but I haven’t had any luck. I keep getting denied for positions outside of finance including entry level jobs despite having 5 yrs of work. Any suggestions? Would love to chat with anyone who loves their company.

I appeared for the PDM on 26th May but still haven't received an offer from IBM. When I talk to HR she says background verification is completed but some sort of approval is required from client. When I ask about expected date then she says it is handled by other team and can't comment. Does this mean I will not get the offer?

Just had a fresh college grad join our team. Been in consulting literally 2 weeks and they’re literally one of the most effective team members I’ve ever seen.

Like it’s kinda scary how quickly she got the grasp of the project; listens intently and always spits out really cogent points. She’s gonna eclipse me here very quickly (and I’m completely fine with that).

I’m hoping to get your insights on this: I have been exploring job opportunities and applied for a position at a big company, i later found out that the hiring manager asked someone about me (someone who I’ve dealt with on a couple projects). That person is not on my list of references. I feel like someone who doesn’t truly know me is being put in a powerful position to determine my “fate”. Their judgement of me could be completely subjective. Is this situation normal?

How much am I handicapping myself leaving my firm before being promoted and working a year as a senior? I’m going from staff to staff in industry getting like a 17% raise with performance based bonus up to 10%. I’m sure that raise is much lower than it would’ve been had I gotten another year of exp but I’m leaving mostly bc I’m so miserable in public.
