This past summer, a group of our scholars made their own EP, including the writing, recording, and production all on their own. Even if it’s not my typical music genre to listen to, I’m so proud and impressed by their work. There are many tutorials and videos online describe almost every aspect of Google’s Productivity suite. In fact, there’s even teaching tools for it as well. For a breakdown of Google Docs in small pieces, I would start with the Google training resources themselves: https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/9300311?hl=en&ref_topic=9296546
GCFLearnfree has some great short videos. Most are are about 2 minutes. You can get to them from their site, or just search on their YouTube channel.
I've been teaching office applications for 10 years and the information never sticks because they have no opportunity to use it. Think about when you have to use a spreadsheet for a particular task that only needs doing once a year or less. I always have to find instructions somewhere. I would answer the student's question so they can get on with the work. Now that my students all have Chromebooks they have more opportunity to use the applications. This means they will be able to practice what I teach but it also means there will be more questions. Showing students how to get their questions answered via YouTube tutorials would be a very worthwhile lesson, but you will still have to answer simple questions here and there.
