While I lold at C1 this seems like an odd question? I mean, how does the power play work in literally any other relationship where the partners have different jobs?

Haha the thought popped into my head and I could t resist posting... I'm MBB, ex was corporate, but had tried for consulting and not made it (MBB or otherwise) and she was very competitive too. It was not the sole or primary reason for us not working out, but it didn't help. Sometimes douches at MBB will make a visible face when introduced to a Big 4 SO (rarely, but it can happen - and is perceived by Big 4 SOs to happen even more). If recruiting is a recent memory and there's bitterness from that, it will fade over time. If either of you take a competitive approach with the other it's gonna be trouble - critical to not compare each other's progression, salary, prestige, etc. (obviously you'll both know, but conscious effort to avoid comparing them, even in your head, on both sides).
K2 ?
