Maybe different systems of the body? Different GLAD posters, posted around the room. Work in teams to provide informative posters that they can share with the class. Lots of ways to share out. Rotate using the jigsaw to share info. GLAD is good because they talk, draw, research and share the info. Have them become the experts and be a support for what they need… start the assignment off with you doing a quick tutorial on what is expected of each group.

Yesterday was a good day. I was really impressed with myself. I woke up at 5, practiced dance lessons, did two water colors, made breakfast and tea, got to work by 10, put in 8-10 hours of solid work and then came home. It’s been ages since I painted or danced. However today, I slept till 7:00, did not work out or have food. Still got to work by 10 and did 8 solid hours of work. Some days are good and some are just okay. And that is okay. Trying to build on my good days and we all can. :)

So, I had to be away for two days. On my way back into town, I stopped at my classroom, just to make sure it was still standing. The sub had rearranged my stuff and taken candy (that I had intended to give to the office workers) and said she gave it to one of my classes. I am livid. Am I over reacting?

Has this happened to anyone else? I used to eat a lot of unhealthy, processed foods a few months ago. I transformed my ways and have eaten quite healthy since. Today I ate some cookies and chips after a long time, and I feel like shit. Stomach upset, heavy chest and just really lethargic. I know the lesson is to not eat unhealthy, but I didn’t think it would wreck my body like this

Why exactly is it so hard for people to understand that ESL and Special Education teachers are in fact that: teachers? I'm bilingual so I constantly get called in to translate for parents in the office as well because it's so hard to get a hold of the district interpreter. Today I was teaching a lesson that took us on a scavenger hunt around the building and the nurse stopped me. "Oh! This is why I couldn't get a hold of you, you're playing!" What? I tilted my head and replied, "I'm TEACHING."

How you guys feel when you are serving notice period, with office work load and giving interviews for new job, how exactly one find the balance here? I am kind of stress I can only focus one thing, any tips here ?

Mid level AD in NY. Just started freelancing. I'd like to make about $70/hour. Do I ask for $80? If they ask my day rate, does that calculate to $700/day? Does day rate = 8 hours? Or could it be 12?

One thing I struggle to remind myself of is you can only lose so much from a bad investment but gains from a good investment are (sorta) unlimited. If your starting position is $10,000 and the value halves, you're down $5,000. But if the value of a separate position doubles, you're now up a total of $5,000. I think learning this will help me reach my FIRE goals by eliminating a lot of emotion and impulse in my investment decisions. What other "life lessons" do any of you have?

I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.
