Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

3 weeks ago I applied to a CM role with KPMG and last Thursday I received an email to fill out the KPMG Online Employment Application as I move forward to the interviewing process and contact my recruiter with any questions. However, no recruiters have reached out to me yet. What should I do? (I applied on my own and am not in the referral program)

For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:

3 rounds of interviews over the course of the past two weeks. The third and final one is tomorrow but nervous that if I don’t get this position now I look like a slacker at my current firm because I’ve had to take off/leave early recently for all these interviews… does it really look bad for am I being paranoid

Anyone exit to sales operations/solutions/engineering? How’s the day to day work? Are you held to a quota, similar to AEs or AMs? How does it relate to creating tailored solution demos, presenting value prop, and creating proposals in consulting? I have some interviews coming up, but am trying to get a better feel for the true responsibilities or the role. Thanks!

Trying to see if MBA is worth for me - I've just accepted an account director at an agency for $140K, 6 yoe, and trying to seek for MBA in order to transition into tech marketing. I heard that it's only worth it if the salary would double, but since I'm in HCOL I would hope that won't be the case. When you were trying to gauge if MBA is worth for you, what resources help you the most?

Hi 🐠! My firm is willing to file an EB3 GC for me, however I’m from a highly backlogged country and was wondering what’s the realistic timeline for it from start to finish? The process seems to be stressful, to say the least. Alternatively, I have the ability to venture out into Canada (as I’m yet to pursue my MBA, after which I plan on pivoting into a diff. industry). What would you do?

My in-laws think any woman or black person in a leadership position is there because of diversity and that companies shouldn’t try to put any effort into promoting diversity in their recruitment because it harms minorities as people will always think those minorities are in a position of power only because they were hired because of gender/race quotas. They also think it’s perfectly justified in prioritizing hiring a woman over a man (all else being equal) because of potential for ‘me too’. 😣

What is it like working in PE? What type of work do people in this field normally do from week to week? Is the field generally taxing with tons of working hours or does it vary on company, industry specialization, team, etc. Currently a Big 4 management consultant and a head hunter reached out about a PE Equity Operating Associate role in the southeast region.

Unvaccinated people need to stop with the “but if you’re vaccinated why do you care” argument. Unvaccinated people are akin to drunk drivers. Even if I am sober and wearing my seatbelt, a drunk driver could still cause serious harm to me, my family, and those I care about. An unvaccinated person has a higher likelihood of catching and spreading Covid to others because they are cowards who care only about themselves. You are harming other people.

Got promoted to senior but did not get a raise to go with it. Firm keeping salaries flat this year due to COVID-19, but I was shocked when I found out promoted staff wouldn’t be getting a raise either. To me, this whole thing rings hollow because the firm has told us multiple times that they were projecting flat growth for the year when compared to last year (which was one of the best in firm history). So it pisses me off that they shot their mouth off about how great year last year was...cont

Have any of your associations put out a climate and culture survey to your union members? I'm hearing that there are many districts that have surveyed their members anonymously regarding assessing the climate and culture within their school community.  If so, would you please provide me with a list of possible questions that you would deem to be appropriate and effective to gauge any possible issues?  Naturally, the questions need to be without bias and completely anonymous.
