190k Nashville
This was after hard negotiations as I’m in chemicals and their starting salary was $160k. They claimed low cost of living in Nashville which is NOT TRUE and I was coming from a competitor with a higher salary so they increased it as they were desperate.

Man, Geotech engineers get the shaft (pun intended for those that get it). 125 at a HCOL area near DC.
Im in-between as I manage both technicians and engineers in a semiconductor development lab but our general salaries are within a 90-125k range + bonus in Hillsboro, OR.
Your stock incentives + guaranteed bonus amounts are generally the thing you’ll have influence over and will determine your lifetime earnings.
I’d recommend assessing stock/bonus compensation more than salary levels if you’re new to management as those are going to be more important in the long term.
140k + 10% bonus (if we're doing well) + ~$30k in RSUs last year... not sure if that last is a regular thing but I've been managing a couple of years now and they seem to keep those types of incentives up. Outside of Boston, MA. A decent number of my employees are now senior level so possibly another step in the near future?
