Are there any other professions that are as unanimously negative as PA? I don’t know a single coworker who doesn’t want to jump out the window at some point during the day

How is this even a question? You work a white collar job making far above the average wage in a climate controlled environment. It’s not even worth discussing to be honest.

Sewer treatment plant operator, maybe? Where else would someone deal with the same amount of shit we do?

like

Absolutely. We just happen to use our words to complain about our jobs because we are edumacated. Everyone else vents their negativity by voting for Trump.

Got some lawyer friends, can confirm slavery levels exceed PA levels, I would imagine doctors as well... doing 80hr shifts with the consequences of you know actually harming a person instead of not documenting some stupid shit that doesn’t matter.

like

KPMG 2 - you’re arguing that people shouldn’t be negative but are ignoring the fact that many, many people in PA really hate it

like

I think office staff or secretaries that are abused by their execs.. kind of like we are

^ Maybe OP meant a white collar profession where you need to go to school for 5 years and sit through a fairly challenging exam?

Not everyone hates B4

Where did I argue anything even close to that EY2? OP posed a question with a ridiculous premise (unanimously negative) and I cited obvious reasons that it is not so.

Yes I know a few miserable lawyers.

I've recently (in the last couple of years) realized I'm ND/ASD. My much younger siblings were diagnosed very early. Obviously, I'm high functioning but it explains why I've always felt so disconnected and misunderstood. I am really great at "masking," which is probably something everyone does to a degree but I never realized how alone it made me feel until today. About a week ago I downloaded a dating app for people with ASD and I connected with someone today...

Anyone here work at Big D in either the M&A FDD group or the ARA group? I’m a year in having spent 6 months each in my firm’s FDD and accounting advisory groups. I’ve been approached by a Deloitte recruiter for either of those two groups and I’m definitely interested if it means at least a 10-15% pay bump. My main question is about the work life balance. For AAS it was pretty great, didn’t work late much and when I did it was never past 8. FDD was a bit more chaotic.

Hi! Does anyone have any recs for certificates/licenses or anything that helped them in their career? I’m not really looking to get my series 7 but if it really helps in terms of pay and getting an advantage for jobs I’d love to know. PMP, SIE, etc. anything along these lines?

Im still navigating where I fit in the finance world but I know I’m not really looking to be a financial adviser.

Thank you!

Not sure if this has been asked in the thread already. But for those that have been applying externally from your current organization, how long has the process taken? What’s a reasonable time to hear back one way or the other from a company in this market? Any recommendations for follow up when you don’t know the name of the hiring manager or recruiters?

I am recently received an invite for a meeting with a partner and a HR person which means I am either going to be laidoff or put on a reduced schedule (60% time for 60% pay). I would rather being laidoff since I don’t want to still work 100% with 60% pay. How would I frame it if they put me on the reduced schedule? I don’t want to say “you have to fire me” since it might be counted as resignation and I won’t receive the severance package.
