Are there any practice areas which don't involve juggling huge volumes of documents at speed, but more focusing say on a smaller amount of documents (but possibly with complex issues)? Regulatory and Antitrust filings seem just as bad as M&A/Funds/Finance closings (with their CP checklist). Is something like Tax, Commercial, Life Sciences or Intl Trade more likely to be this?

what’s the culture like at KPMG’s Deal Advisory group (specifically FDD in nyc)? Looking to switch firms and I know there’s a ton of needs/openings, but have heard mixed things from friends/old colleagues (and this app).

Currently a staff 2 in audit at a big 4 firm (will be promoted to senior later this year), and I’m curious about switching into FDD. I’ve been seeing the referral plugs in here from all of the FDD folks, but it’s mainly been directed at those with more experience. Should I wait it out to make the switch or would I stand a chance with only 1.5 years of experience?

How many of the first year associates at your biglaw firm hit the stated hours goal?

Do lower ranked “big law” firms have better WLB? Deciding between a v10 and a V40. I don’t want to make partner and am not the best attorney (too Exhausted, no more motivation) so am thinking of choosing the V40 for either better WLB or smaller likelihood of getting let go.
