Question of the year. I keep telling myself to make this a focus and recruit like mad from fishbowl

It would require me to be an external “headhunter” type recruiter, and I’d rather not subject myself to that. Ever

Transitioned into consulting post-MBA (1.5 years ago) and generally enjoyed the experience. Since I joined my comp has gone up ~13% and I’ve liked my project teams but in my most recent review talk my partner told me he thought I was ready to be promoted and had advocated for me but there was an HR rule against it and I was on-track to be promoted in 6 months. Since then I’ve learned that one of my classmates (started 2-3 months before me due to COVID) was promoted last cycle.

Hey everyone! Anybody working in AWS or have recently applied? I have an interview coming up for a Senior Client Lead Recruiter position. I’d like to get any insights on the position, interview process and the Total Compensation please? The levels online don’t seem to match, maybe that is not accurate for Canada? The recruiter mentioned somewhere around 80k TC already and it seems kind of low?

I started working at D a couple months ago. I accidentally joined an internal phone call with project leadership a little late today because I got tunnel vision on a work product. The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago without internal leadership. Should I be worried about this? Idk if I need to bring it up to my manager during our check in next week if he doesn’t himself.

Any advice on managing crossfire between partner and project manager? Prepared a deck based on flow & structure discussed with PM, then partner reached out individually asking for a different flow. Checked again with the PM and he doesn’t agree with the partner’s feedback. Now I’m kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place.

A client has a very-difficult-to-pronounce name which is a tongue twister for me. Don’t intend to butcher the name, but just can’t say it right. Personally, if someone from another culture said my name a bit differently, I just wouldn’t mind. This client is touchy about it. How do you handle this?

My client doesn’t follow a proper data cleaning process and creates visualizations straight from scripts with dirty data constantly then reviews it with C-Suite stakeholders making my team’s data look invalid. I have registered it to be a HIGH risk and even created tutorials to help address proper data cleaning procedures. I do not have access to the Database but rather receive scripted reports frequently. What can I do to next ?

Complaint named 3 defendants. We filed POs. Plaintiff filed an Amended Complaint, which now only contains claims against Defendant A and Defendant B and has deleted our client, Defendant C, from the caption. However, Defendant C is still referenced a couple times in the body of the Complaint and Plaintiff claims “all defendants” are responsible. Do we file a response even though there are no claims against us?

Hi Big4, I'm coming up close to 2 years of work exp and I'd love to explore a role at EY, KPMG and PwC in analytics and data engineering. I'd been looking at Deloitte as well, however on multiple occasions Deloitte recruiters told me that I need more "years of experience" without factoring my skillsets. On conducting research, I found developers writing basic SQL queries that I could script at the beginning of my career. While I'm still learning, I'd appreciate anyone who can help :) Cheers!
