I have 5 YOE of in-house full-cycle recruiting in the PR/marketing space at $120k. Recently moved to SF but am working remotely for my firm based in NYC. Overall I'm happy but I'm starting to feel like I don't want to work fully remote forever and I am limiting future career options (and income) in the Bay since I have no tech exp. Has anybody made a switch to tech recruiting midway in their career? Or are there any other non-tech recruiters in the Bay Area who can give advice on career growth?

Clothes question! I went in house 1.5 years ago and the dress code is casual and it’s a remote job. Should I keep all of my suits, blazers, business casual office attire? I don’t plan on going back to private practice any time soon or ever but a part of me wants to keep them * just in case *. I built up a considerable wardrobe after being in PP for 7 years. Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I'm an experienced attorney (16 years), worked in government, small/medium firms, been a solo. I'm also looking to get out of family/immigration law and go into labor/insurance defense/litigation. According to BCG I'm a terrible candidate for lateral positions and was told that recruiters would never work with me. However, I still get emails/text messages that they want to work with me. WTH?!?!
