Are there staff/seniors/managers here that are looking to leave B4 and go to smaller/midsize public accounting firms? Or does everyone generally want to leave for industry?

Why leave from Big4 to little league to industry instead of Big4 to industry?

likesmart

If I were to leave for industry, I’d want to work for a large company - preferably F200 size. So going midsize would not make sense for me. I’d have all the same public accounting drama plus clients I’d hate.

Then again... I love my job so I’m not going anywhere any time soon. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m considering going to a smaller firm (<500 employees), but I have no desire to work in industry and no desire to become a partner at a larger firm. I do want to make a career out of public accounting so I think it makes sense for me to be at a smaller firm where I may have a better shot at making partner .

I’ve heard of people that go to industry and don’t really like it so they go back to public in a midsized, but haven’t heard of people going from big four to mid-sized

We’ve had several people go to mid from my group - mostly because they either 1) couldn’t get promoted for a particular reason or 2) were promised a promotion

Hiya Guys, so I can tell I am burned out and inching into the grey pit of complacency. The burn out is already here, but the slide into grey-pit is not acceptable. I have a masters in business admin, 8+yrs of hospitality management experience, and a bachelors in science.

I really need advice/strategy for skill development, despite burn out and the weakened motivation. I am in a role that can, (in 2+ yrs), make me eligible to start at entry-level position in an area I want. I don't have 2 yrs.

WFH has made me realise I loved agency culture more than that industry itself. What can a strategist do after leaving advertising? Hi guys, so a friend of mine has been head hunted for a job as a designer position for a interior design company. His current job is a good position which puts him on track to be creative director in 2 years. His current job is a great role, loves what he does but he’s not being paid as much as he should and he’s pretty curious about this other job offer. He’s thinking of going for a meeting with the other company. What kind of questions do you think should be asked in the meeting?

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

I left gecio and went to liberty mutual, but I’m not liking their way of evaluating claims. They rely heavily on Mitchell which is a pricing tool and their reductions are excessive. I’m thinking of switching back to Geico and was wondering if anyone has gone back to their previous carrier. I used to be a lit adjuster at gecio and now only handling soft tissue claims, which is extremely boring. I’m gonna be going through liberty’s litigation training at the end of June.

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.
