Regretting moving in-house. I was an 8th year associate at a v10 biglaw firm but moved in house six months ago and am regretting it. The pay has been hard to stomach but the bigger concern is that the hours and work are not what I expected. Is it too late to go back to a firm since I was so senior when I left? Hi ladies- so in summary I’m wondering if it might be beneficial for me to “hold myself back” a year and not go for the senior promotion this promotion cycle.

For some background, I’m in my second year at D as a TC II. And I’m currently in a reduced schedule. The reduced schedule alone doesn’t hurt my odds of being promoted to senior but I think it’s my technical competency that’s lacking.

Do any of you have any thoughts or advice while I consider this decision?
