We had some remodeling done by a contractor introduced by our agent who said he is licensed. We got his license number, check against CA licensing site, and it’s valid. After the sale of the house, there was an issue. We gave the contractor contact to buyer and seemed like the contractor told the buyer he’s not licensed.

It is now in dispute and the buyer wants us to pay for the damage and fix. We would like to know if we are in the wrong if it turns out the contractor is not licensed and we need to pay for the damage.

Just additional info: we did provide them time to do inspection but the buyer chose not to do it. We did not know there was a leak either because we moved out of town prior to completion of work.

Hi, I'm looking into moving into Canada from US. Unfortunately I didn't get selected for my last H1-B this year and my employer will not help with move to Canada. I have a Bachelor from US in Comp Sci and ~3 years of work experience in the US.

I looked into the EE program but given I don't have a job offer from a CA company with LMIA, I'm slightly below the last CRS cut off. What are some visa programs I can look into? I'm completely new to this process so any recommendation would be helpful.

1. Marrakech itinerary recommendations? Best way to get there from DC? Seems flying home takes overnight layover unless I take Royal Air Maroc or possibly TAP. How do these airlines compare to BA, AA, UA, Lufthansa, Swissair? If you had to do an overnight layover what are convenient cities to get into town (London, Geneva, Lisbon, Madrid, Frankfurt seem like the options)? Also how impractical is it to transfer from LGW to LHR if I want to spend a day or two in London anyway.

Can anyone of you please help in calculating how much will be my income tax per month(I am availing the Old tax regime)? Different IT calculators show different figures, not sure which is correct :(

And as for the interest amount in the Savings Account and Fixed Deposits, do both fall under "Income from Interest"? Or under "Other Income"? Or does Interest amount in Savings account fall under "Interest from Deposits - 80TTA"?

The figures are given in the screenshot 👇🏻

Ever since I got fired recently from a job. I have found that I just don't have the same passion and flair like I used to. I used to be so bright eyed and fluffy tailed, full of vigor and ready to tackle any challenge. Even going so far as to stay up 22-23 hours to complete tasks 3 days out of the week. That's how badly I believed in what I was doing. I learned everything in a month and worked my ass off. But hard work wasn't enough. They chopped me off and I've never felt the same ever since.

Is there ever a scenario where it would be beneficial to the employee to enter into an arbitration agreement with your employer (mutually consent to resolve by arbitration all claims or controversies, past present or future that the company may have against you or you against the company/company's employees)? I can't see any real benefit as an employee to waive my rights.Context: received an offer in which there is a voluntary arbitration agreement. No adverse employment action if I opt out. TIA

Question for fellow attorneys:

I applied to a credit card with Chase a few months ago and within 7 days I was told it was rejected and they would send a letter explaining why.

Chase has recently calling to say it expired (they said it wasn’t rejected but I was told on the recorded line that it was).

Isn’t this against the law (fair credit reporting act)?. I’m not a lawyer so I’d love to hear your thoughts
