If you weren't already mad at him, you haven't been paying attention. This is just another step down his path of delusion
Kanye is saying everything white folks want to hear: we chose to be slaves, Trump is a good President, “free” black people will vote Republican, etc. He is basically letting white folks off the hook for their bullshit.
And because he’s a celeb, young people are looking up to him and white folks are pointing to him as a good example of “being free.”
Nope. I’m done. He’s dead to me. He’s banished from Wakanda.
I’m pissed off because there are young people who are actually acting like his argument has any merit. It feels like they are spitting in the face of millions of people who came before and I’m genuinely upset
He is truly mentally ill. What he is speaking is some bulls/8t but it is most likely a manic episode brought on by lack of meds and stress. Regardless he should have a seat and stay quiet.
@C2 One could say that entering slavery wasn’t a choice but staying a slave is?
“Rather die than live in bondage” “Liberty or death”?
The Underground Railroad is an example of slaves not wanting to remain and risk life and literal limb to be free. A choice they made.
Some of the greatest artists in our time were not considered “normal” by society and dubbed crazy, troubled or “insane”. Janis, Marvin, Jimi, Michael, Prince, Mariah, Whitney, Elton, Picasso. I think we need to be careful with calling people crazy.
To be honest, do we want our artists to be “just like us”? Isn’t that the allure of art and entertainment? The appeal of the lack of normalcy
This isn’t him just being eccentric, he is peddling verifiable lies with the facade of being an intellectual
SM1; none of those example relate to what Ye is saying. Except maybe the underground railroad. And the word itself details how difficult and absurdly complex were the measures those people had to take in order to escape slavery. Slavery was never a choice. For him to say that Black people stayed in it voluntarily or got used to it, is straight ignorance. If we had a submissive mindset, then we wouldn't have the BLM movement. We wouldn't have so much information on the prison complex and the societal norms that have made the game unfair for POC.
I feel for kanye if he’s going through a mental episode, but at the same time, I have a couple of friends who are bipolar and none of them has said shit like “slavery is a choice” during their manic episodes.
The man needs to sit down and take a history class.
He's got 3 albums coming out that he's got a hand in. I see it as a ploy. No change in my mind
Actually if Kim dumps him I’m getting my popcorn ready 🍿 because Kanye will tell ALLLLLLLL the Kardashian business! 😂
Check out this thread- basically saying it’s all an act...

I feel sorry for him. That Kris Jenner bubble is real
U mean SM DM1 🙂
@SM1 if you think I’m mean, wait until the Kardashians have him declared crazy and take control of his assets and kids. The devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder
Uh...Dude is ig'nant (ignorant). Not mad, just meh. He's a Kardashian after all.
Pretty damn mad. He’s crossed the line many times, but this time he burned it up completely. A bridge too far, to say the least. 🤦🏽♀️
SC: You mentioned difficult and absurdly complex measures. So much like consultants do, we examine the measures for the current undertaking, examine all or most of possible outcomes and determine if the measures are worth them. Death or bondage. People chose death, life in bondage or attempt at freedom in Canada.
What in the case of the Haitian Revolution? Harpers Ferry? Slave uprisings across the world. People in those events believed that slavery wasn’t worth living in and made a choice to rebel
I'm not mad at Kanye, I don't know him, but what I do know is I don't appreciate anyone who choses to marginalize people, history and/or someone's experience even more than the world around them is already doing especially those with celebrity status that could use that status to uplift and unite. I'm not entertaining the foolishness.
Hindsight is always 20/20, I did not live through the horrors of slavery that our ancentsers went through slavery therefore I have no idea what was done or wasn't done nor the opportunities that they had or didn't to get out of the situation. So I have no right to speak on their behalf or to diminish their experiences. What I do know is they went through more than I could even imagine to path the way for me to be the person I have am today, which I will always be more than grateful for and no one, not even Kanye can take that away from me or them.
You think this is bad? Wait until Kim dumps his a&@. He’s really gonna flip out. And we gonna see just how crazy he is. This is a preview
I’m mad at Ye. Very mad at Ye. If slaves could have just left the plantation I think they would.
