Are you a recruiter worried about a recession come 2023?

Scary idea right?

Let me give you something to consider.

Stop worrying about things that are out of your control.

Lets be honest anyway, you are probably very unqualified to be making market predictions.

You are a recruiter. You are not an economist.

You have no idea what the market is going to do.

And that’s ok. Because no one does. I certainly don’t.

Even the so-called best economists in the world are wrong a lot of the time.

If you’re a recruiter or not… we need this mentality

I appreciate the optimism but the future outlook doesn’t look too good this upcoming year. I hope I am wrong but not many companies will be hiring and there are now an influx of tech recruiters out in the market. That’s a lot of competition for a small amount of available roles.

We’ll see what happens. I’m hoping everything works out because recruiting is vital to a company’s success!

I agree, and the overall market isn’t always what’s going on from city to city and industry to industry…I just got hired as a recruiting specialist for a F500 company, starting in a week from now. But still a good idea to keep an eye on what’s going on nationwide as it actually happens rather than stress about predictions.

I am a contract recruiter for Fortune 500. Teammates have been getting laid off every other Friday for about 2 months. Besides my. I've been shuffled around so they can 'keep' me. Manager (correctly) told the group that 'contract labor is disposable; designed to be used in situations where business unit's needs change to flex staff levels.' At this company, typically 1 out of 25-35 (approximately) get converted to full time permanent employment. There is zero security in contract recruiting.

helpful

Very true, I am leaving my contract role for a full time role for this reason. Also the contract role is in a 8+ recruiters, recruiting department and with the layoffs going on, I felt that an additional insecurity for job security/stability

Love this! You’re right

Media spread fear and negativity, no one can predict the future tomorrow. Life is different for everyone!!!

High volume recruiting - how are you using Indeed? Posting directly to the site? Using campaigns linked to your ATS, if so what ATS? I always feel as if indeed never works great to provide the right candidate quality and numbers for the price. I’d love to hear some strategies! TIA

Hi I’m hiring a recruiter role in the US. Looking for someone with experience in a software company and who can be Atlanta or east coast time zone. Can be fully remote.
Salary c$60k plus 10% bonus and recruitment fee for each direct and referral placement you make (which could add c$30k+ to earnings) we have a great selection of company benefits. Is this package attractive? There’s great opportunity for career development and the company is growing so lots of new roles. We are international too!
