I am currently on maternity leave. I missed utilization targets because of travel restrictions and was not rated highly for my performance last year. I am concerned I could be laid off when I return or before - my federal and state protection for pregnancy has ended. This is making me very anxious and not letting me enjoy my bonding time with my little one. Any advice on how I can change my mindset or be more calm is much appreciated. Thanks!!
What are partners going to do with the massive amount of senior turnover? Considering changing anything? Upping pay, benefits, hours? Less understaffing? Anything?
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
Can anyone provide insight to working at Holland and Hart? Also, when do parental leave benefits kick in? Is there a waiting period? Do they negotiate lateral bonuses for losing out on present firm end of year bonus? TIA.
Can anyone from LMI share their thoughts on company culture, benefits, likes/dislikes, etc? Have an interview on Friday and would love some insights. Thank you!
4 years ago I made a crowdsourced spreadsheet for agency parental leave benefits. The hardest data to source was what the tenure requirement was to receive benefits (i.e. you have to be at your company for a year to qualify) Yet, the tenure requirement seems to be one of the biggest things holding women back. I posted a thing on LinkedIn today about it and would love everyone’s support and/ or thoughts on the topic. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/tiarapuglisi_mothersday-maternityleave-activity-6665314139423952896-aseD
Looking for experiences and advice from anyone having a second baby at around 42 years old. (Aside from the huge unknown if I can even get pregnant again.) My child will be about 6 years old by that point. I didn’t think we were thinking about more than one, and at this point I’m now nervous about all the risks to me and a baby of my being “advanced” aged. Also any insight on maternity leave as a litigation partner would be great.
Question! Does anyone know what KPMG’s paternal leave looks like? My bf and I are having a baby in the spring and my firm gives all new parents three months of paid paternal leave. Is the policy for KPMG different for the Woman giving birth vs the supporting partner (Man)? Thanks!
Maxed out my 401k yesterday! Woohoo 🥳
I’m a Manager up for Sr. Manager this upcoming year and want to start gathering support from the Sr. Managers and Partners. How have you handled these discussions? Any tips/do’s/Don’t’s. I have discussed this in prior years but want to make sure everyone is aware. I have been a high performer throughout my career but just got back from my maternity leave and feel a bit disconnected.

Tip for young ones looking to go to BSchool. Put all your money in traditional 401k. Then when you go to bschool, and have zero wages for that year (maybe the internship), convert to Roth with very low income tax. Tax arbitrage right there! 💸💸💸
Most posts on here don’t really paint a positive picture of life in the USDC. Is there anyone on here who has had a good experience working in the USDC? Are any of you working in teams or groups in the USDC that seem great to be a part of? Any leaders or groups in the USDC you have heard of that seem to care and are great to work with or for?

I've been working at start-ups for the past 1.5 years. I don't want to continue in this path and would love to go back to a more mature organization. Any advice as to how to do this? I fear bigger companies pass on people coming from startups.
What kind of roles does “business analyst” open you up to? I have 5 YOE, 3 in audit and 2 in analytics/cloud enablement consulting. Found a role for business analyst at FAANG that sounds like it would make good use of my cumulative experience but not sure if these are typically dead end roles or not.

Will a cover letter significantly help my application while applying to MBB? Or significantly hurt if I don’t attach one? There’s nothing unusual about my resume to explain (i.e. employment gaps, reapplication, etc) so my CL would primarily be explaining why I want to work for the firm.
Thinking about getting into valuations. Anyone have any insights about this path in Big4 and in industry? Specifically I’m wondering: 1) what’s the scope of work like at Big 4? (Is the service line split into industry sector groups, or do some groups do Valuation for tangibles and another does intangibles) 2) how are the hours like? Working 9am - 3am consistently? 3) what exit opportunities exit after the Big 4 experience? 4) how does Compensationfor HCOL seniors/ manager look this year?
