Question for those that are familiar with how severance pay works. I received a package a while back and was paid bi-weekly severance. The payments ended a few months ago but just the other day I had a severance deposit. Curious if it’s possible to get additional payment at this point or does this look like a mistake? I know the logical answer might be to just call but I’ll be honest in that I am still looking for a job and this would definitely help me. Thanks for your advice!
I wish admin utilized Tier 1 supports with teachers. Smiles, appreciations and acknowledging ones efforts would do a great deal to boost morale and climate. I just don’t understand what that is so hard to do.
Hi all! My company just laid off 5% of the workforce. I was safe but I am looking for new roles. I’m in final interviews for a company but worried about making moves because of the impending recession.. what are your thoughts? Make the move or stay put?
This is a bit of an aside, but over the last year or two, I've noticed "career coaching" explode as a service and a field. But, like what is it? How is it different from therapy, and how should it be utilized? I'm intrigued, but don't know much about it.
What would you do if you have way less clients than your peers? Do you wait until you are assigned more clients or speak up? I'm a high performer but not utilized to my fullest capacity.

Y’all just a quick vent - I am 10 weeks 4 days and just really f*cking tired of being tired and nauseous. Work is like pulling teeth right now with a difficult client and a director/partner who aren’t respecting boundaries particularly well with some utilization BS on top of it. I have anxiety and ADHD just normally and this is our first child (but second pregnancy after one miscarriage earlier this year). Just uuugggghhhhh. Tips for coping appreciated.
So I just got fired…. And was told I’d get two months severance… I’m in utter shock since I just got back from the hospital. I was told I needed to improve my performance in January and all the check ins I’ve had I was told I’m doing much better and was put on multiple long term projects and then this happened. I’m in shock and idk if 2 months severance is good bad?!? Idk thoughts?

My partner and I are thinking about moving to NYC! Are there any CW jobs there right now or is it totally oversaturated from layoffs?
A previous employer reached out and offered me a Senior Product Designer role with a 40% increase base salary. I am considering this, as I have been feeling under utilized at my current role + dealing with of uncertainty lately. But I would be forfeiting a lot of RSUs if I leave. I am in the middle of my vesting period (2/4 yrs), and this year alone would have 256 shares vesting (~$500 share price). The new role will come with shares, but at a small share price. Anyone had similar experience?
I was laid off this month from a US-based company where I've been a reporter for the past 3 years or so... I live in Europe. I wonder if I'm likely to have luck with other remote-friendly US companies. Or are we already past that?
For those who have been laid off, what does it look like right before? (like HR schedules a meeting with you?). I have this really bad pit in my stomach.
No trolling or sarcastic stuff please.
Got offer from BCG for ECT. Read numerous comments about ECT being not attractive compared to Generalist track. Also heard challenges about billability/utilization. Any views/ guidance appreciated!
I am not super keen to become a partner (selling) and main reason to join will be working with different clients, smart talented people and a good brand. End goal (at the moment atleast) is to stay for few years and return to the industry. 15 YOE
Hey Everyone! I’ve unfortunately just got laid off from my company. This is my second time in 5 months getting laid off due to budget cuts. Quite frankly, I’m drained and in need of leads. I’m a DEI TA sourcing specialist with experience sourcing Technical, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Shared Services. I’m seeking a full time FINTECH company, but I’m open to opportunities because beggars can’t be choosers. Feel free me if you know of anything! —-thank you!
Edit: What is the best way to tell a PM or a PEP that this project isn't for you, and that it doesn't align with your career goals without getting kicked off too soon to negatively impact your utilization? The project is ABSOLUTELY horrendous and a mess. It is glorified admin work which is not what I want to do. Is there a way to tell that to senior management without getting a negative reaction?
For those 2-3 year associates that have transitioned from a litigation to transactional practice, can you provide any tips? Particularly when lateraling to a new firm in a transactional group. I can see a lot of benefits of the lit experience but wondering how others have handled it.

Dilemma: I am 1 of 4 workstream leads on a large digital transformation programme. My background is Enterprise Architecture, and I am leading a team that includes Enterprise, Solution, Integration and Data Archs.
If I wasn't so desperate for the resources, I'd roll off 2 new integration archs that recently joined.
They both openly challenge my decisions (which are made in consultation with the team) with vague arguments, speak to me as if they need to "dumb down for the girl", and (continues)

Invested a significant chunk of my savings recently in Vanguard (70k) JUST before the market started to plummet. My plan was to save for a house, try and grow my savings over the next 5 years (not super long). Each day my investment plummets, and now I'm wondering - should I pull out the 65k (it's gone down 5k) and cut my losses - or is it safer/wiser to just hold on...

Got offered 83k to start as an analyst for Deloitte’s controllership advisory position. Coming from one year. Of audit experience from pwc. Should I accept this pay from Deloitte? I hear A1’s in pwc advisory make 84k and A2’s make 95k. I feel used and undersold.

Possible to move from RX (FDD background) back to FDD.
Specifically at A&M. Currently RX at Alix but the travel is wearing me down. I'd like to go back to FDD and do TAG at A&M. That possible? I know I might have to wait till a better economic environment

I have a recruiter showing me a general overview of FTI Consulting saying that compensation would consist of base salary + monthly qualified billables + 10% to 20% annual bonus. Is this similar to A&M (% of billable hours)? I'm currently in TS but am looking for a boost in compensation, more than a public accounting firm can offer. What kind of $ are FTI seniors making in this market?
Any advice on how to communicate with a team who’s too busy and you’re still new to FDD (4-5 months in) ? Not a great sign. Take it as a warning to get off your bum and get into the office to network and get yourself staffed.
PwC3 such a bad take.

Must be KPMG then
Even if they do fire you, why would you wanna work somewhere that pays you to do a job and expects you to work two full time jobs?
I mean how was the email addressed? You specifically? Probably not great
I had one addressed to me my second week at a firm lol. A year and 2 jobs later I’m working 80+ a week at a firm no one’s ever heard of 🤷♂️
Not a great sign - probably worth considering external opportunities.
