Are you guys still wfh and if so for how much longer? Or are you already going back the office? I’m expected to go back May 3rd and to be in one week and wfh for 2 weeks but I’m just dreading the thought of going back.

WFH till end of summer...... Side note, I think you should probably pay attention to those feelings of dread. Sounds like your sub-conscious is trying to tell you something about your job, maybe that you hate your employer, your career, your coworkers, whatever. People that do what they love don’t tend to dread doing it. Lifes too short, find something new that excites you every day you leave the house to do it. Note: if your only concern is covid then disregard the above. However, it kind of sounded like you were dreading going back to work for reasons other than that, hence the side comment.

My new industry job said at earliest we are going back is in September and we are going back to a permanent hybrid method so we only work in the office 2 days a week and other 3 days are up to us if we want to go to the office or wfh

We are projecting 4th of July return to office but I plan on looking for remote jobs. I like wfh way too much to be bothered with a commute

Wfh until I die

I am looking into remote-first companies. I love working from home and having time with family. The thought of flying every week again is a non-starter for me.

like

I do the same! Even if I dont like the company I think it’s important for them to understand how many people want to be remote forever :)

Looking for remote only

Went back to the office full time. Hate it.

Still WFH. Expect to be mainly WFH though the end of the calendar year.

like

Still WFH, expecting a October return date. Mainly because we bought a new office and it’s currently being renovated inside & out and that’s the expected finish date.

like

I’ve been WFH since the second week of March 2020. The earliest my office MAY open is September, but I think I’ll be remote until fall with a possible hybrid 2/3 split between home and client. Even then, I don’t think I’ll be back in my Company’s office till 2022.

like

I think for most large firms it’s looking to be after Labor Day. But it wouldn’t surprise me if it gets pushed back to next year.

likeuplifting

Those of you talking about firms not going back until fall, what state are you in and how’s vaccination going? I’m in CA and they just opened up vaccination appointments for anyone who wants, any age. My firm already opened partially. Mandatory for some staff, optional for other staff and for lawyers. I’m dreading going back.

like

Arizona - vaccines open to all.

Still WFH. Office plans to open sometime in June on a volunteer basis. Then in the fall they will fully open with a hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 days from home). I love WFH and want to stay permanently remote.

like

Hybrid starting in June (2 days/week) with the intention of doing something more permanent in September after they test what June looks like. Tbh I’m nervous because there are people in my office who are definitely not getting vaccinated and the thought of going back to a bigger office space with more people and non-vaxed people and wearing masks all day seems awful.

like

Ah yeah it’s just such a stressful situation to not know what you’re walking into. Hopefully they can accommodate more wfh 🙏🏡

For those of you who like WFH, are you concerned about growth opportunities and bonding with team members? Or are you senior enough / don’t care enough that the trade-off is worth it?

like

Nope, not concerned. Management wants to promote me, but I’m at a comfortable salary level and not really interested in taking on more responsibilities. Don’t care about bonding. I prefer to keep my social circles outside of work.

like

9/6 but partner said they won’t make us come in

like

We only just moved to 50% office capacity. I don’t see us going back to full capacity any time soon.

like

OP what are you dreading? You are definitely not alone.

like

I’ll be going back in starting in May. 2 days in office the rest wfh

like

So I’ll be going in starting May 3rd. In one week and home for 2 weeks. Don’t mind hybrid for now but don’t want to be back fully at the office

Ever since I became a mid-level I feel like this job has become so lonely. I’m running my own deals - which I actually enjoy - but I don’t have any juniors so usually I’m also doing 100% of the work. Since I’m handling everything, I only hear from my partners if I ask a question or if I’ve done something wrong. Still being WFH doesn’t help…but I feel so alone day-to-day. Do any other mid-levels feel similarly? Or is this just an issue with my group?

An engagement is already in the works so jewelry seems silly & I WFH so even high end shoes/bags can wait. Thoughts?
