Hi guys,
I am currently on notice period and my LWD is Sep 2, 2022. Today, I got an offer from state street mentioning my joining date as Sep 12, 2022 even though I already told HR that I would like to join from Sep 5 itself. How can I convince HR to prepone my joining date to Sep 5, 2022. I don't want to lose my one week salary guys. Pls suggest. State Street

Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.

I was a cross offeree and I’m quite happy with my decision to join Bain. People are down to earth, the company is ethical, cases are stimulating, and the compensation is nice.
My biggest gripe: We should promote our stars to partner as fast as McKinsey and BCG…appears that we are about a year slower on average.
It was a response to McKinsey changing Principal title to AP. Thought would give the edge as Partner sounds more senior. Ridiculous, I know.

Yes! Great people, meaningful work, constant stimulation (which I need). Not competitive though everyone is high-achieving.
Hours can be variable but I’ve found that people will generally respect boundaries. And it’s gotten more controllable over time as I’ve moved up.
On comp I assume you mean?
Had offers from all MBB and chose Bain. Can’t say if I would have had a better experience at McK or BCG, but I can say that I have loved it so far. Interesting projects with laid back people and have found it to be more sustainable that I thought.
Yes.
Biggest complaints: poor leadership at the lower levels and even from some (but not many) partners; wokism has taken hold (witness "womxn" and accompanying diversity obsession); too content to be a follower of M&B and rest on our PE laurels.
I love working at Bain. I find everyone super supportive, and the teaming environment is fun.
Very happy. Used to work at BCG (different geography) and had cross offer from McK before joining.
Love the people side of it, and the fact that we work more closely with clients than for them (my personal case experience, not sure whether it holds true across the company)
What I don't like is that we often lack the infrastructure of large corporations, but then, on the other hand, there's some charme in reinventing the wheel over and over...
Any views on Bain India esp. the PI practice?
Thank you Bain 11. Can you elaborate please
