Yes, but hiring fully remote roles isn’t the answer either. The next talent trend after moving fully remote will be offshoring to lower cost locations. The better answer is to lead with flexibility towards employee preferences for working, while meeting in person when it’s meaningful and has a purpose. Management teams are still stuck in the mindset that you have to have informal water cooler chat and measure face time to drive “culture”. The reality is that candidates don’t see that as attractive anymore and are opting out of those types of roles.
All the time. Usually I can get them to change their mind after a period of time, but not always.

Yes, and same as above 👆🏼
No issues, but we are FULLY transparent. We will it post a role without being 100% confident on both ends (and document it) that we are okay with a fully remote employee for the role.

Yes and sadly it’s affecting our ability to hire people of color. I’m frustrated that hiring managers at my company preach about flexibility and wellbeing except when it comes to their own teams. I can’t always change hearts and minds but coming equipped with LinkedIn insights on comparable roles being remote and also amazing candidates who you might’ve spoken to but won’t consider the role bc it’s not fully remote. I think when you show the implications of not being flexible and how it will cost them a great hire perhaps they’ll flex. It’s luck of the draw for me…good luck!
Are you saying people of color prefer remote work more than white people? That's certainly not the case
I feel pretty fortunate with my HM's. They (understandably) prefer to work with local candidates, but are willing to look outside our area if they feel our talent pool is exhausted.
