Are you required to come into your building? I'm teaching vitrtually, but 2 days a week I'm required to come into my classroom.

Is anyone else having difficulty when teaching pronouns now with non-binary terms? My students insist on the fact that Susan doesn’t have to be she it could be they. Answer key says she. How do we handle this?!?!

Any advice for teaching mixed grade levels or multi subject is appreciated: scheduling, classroom setup, subject order, behavior management, etc. I'm struggling to find my rhythm with only 6 weeks before kids return. For the Wharton recommender question of “why will this candidate have success in the Wharton classroom?” is there anything specific my recommender should mention regarding the Wharton class experience? I’ve done some research and note Wharton is big on experiential learning, flexible curriculum etc but is there anything that makes the classroom experience distinct?

I apologize in advance for the language but…some of these educators are just assholes. Why they’re allowed to be in the classroom w kids is beyond me. Is it just me?

I love my job, I also consider at least once a week what I could be doing for employment to provide for my family. I am under so much stress I had a massive headache and blacked out in the shower yesterday. I work in a self contained classroom with intellectual disabilities. My room should have a minimum of 3 adults, it should have 5 there myself and 1 para when she decides to show for work. My admin is great amd does what they can. What do y'all do for self-care? I need some serious me time.

I’m looking for some elementary teachers who want to exchange letters written by students. Letters need to be read by the teacher before being sent to make sure they are school appropriate. Letters are mailed to school addresses not to student homes. It would be fun to get a network of participating classrooms from all over the world.
