Hello. I’m evaluating an offer from Bay Area company. First year comp will be ~370k (base+bonus+RSU). Is this good enough for a family of 3 to live a decent life? I’ll be moving from Vancouver (Canada) and planning on renting for about an year.

Diversification is the key. My portfolio includes a bit of most of these.

1. Debt/Liquid mutual funds (direct)
2. Gold
3. REIT (fractional ownership and distribution)
4. Equity mutual funds (ELSS, direct)
5. Direct equity (India)
6. US stocks and ETFs (tech & genomics)
7. Crypto currency (interest deposits)

Is there any reason why the recent stimulus package, if passed, wouldn’t accelerate bitcoin’s run to 100k+? I’m already bullish on btc, but looking to hear a potential rebuttal.

Question, or advice. If you leave your job and have a 401k balance under 5k what is the best option for me to do? Rollover to an IRA, keep the funds where they are, or would I lose that money? TIA

Question for my fellow fish, thinking about buying a new home and putting 10% down instead of 20%. Only because I want to have some extra money laying around for new home items I’ll need. I am thinking of leaving my stable full time job for a contract position (ongoing with no time frame) for a bigger raise (making an exra $20/hour) with a large tech company. Had my 401k in all VINIX last year, and it served me well. I rebalanced to 20% large cap, 20% mid cap, 20% small cap, 20% Int’l, and 20% bonds. The Int’l diversification is pulling me down significantly. Would you shift that 20% back to large cap or just say it will payoff later to diversify? My IRA is pretty tech heavy, so trying to be mindful.
