I just left Amazon and would like to start applying for other faang companies. Any suggestions on where to start?
Best advice for balancing management of several accounts? Having trouble tracking the little asks here and there. Any good cheats or systems anyone uses? Feel like the traditional to do list is getting too long to be really useful.

How and where do you ladies find a great therapist? I’ve had the worst luck in terms of finding anyone. With travel, it’s hard. Are there virtual therapists too? Anyone tried them?
I’m so stressed about work and life in general. A week off work would help immensely. Should I go to my doctor and ask for a note? Will my employer ask for documentation?
Looking to potentially relocate to South Florida from Chicago; admitted in multiple states. 12+ years of litigation experience, currently a non-equity partner. Anyone have insights on salary and job market comparisons? Willing to start back at the Senior associate level if need be.
Does anyone know of any local gyms or chains that offer Pelotons as part of their equipment?
SF 47, been texting guy (49) for a week, plan to meet tomorrow. The texting is getting too much, good morning and good night texts. I consider anyone from an app a stranger until meeting in person. Over the course of weekend, he's sent 3 YouTube songs with "love" in the title (Etta James). I am feeling more and more uncomfortable. He's coming off as needy or desperate, huge turnoff for me. I have slowed my response rate. How to deal with this?
This hasn’t been posted in a while, so I’d love to hear what is your favorite burger in Chicago? Some of my faves are: Mott St, Willow Room, and Loyalist.
I have an offer from CTS and LTI.

I know nothing about this area of law but want to help a friend. Recs for an attorney in DMV area? Here's the situation - need someone to advise a Maryland resident whose roof collapsed in the storm a couple of weeks ago,and his leasing office is not letting him out of the lease. He is still living there, and they still haven't repaired the roof. If more comfortable DMing that works too.
Any thoughts on Orrick LA culture?
Shot out to all the chill partners out there who don’t create ridiculous timelines, push back against unrealistic client demands and look out for their associates mental and physical health.
So are bonus wars over?
Is anyone else out there really struggling with typos, section references, or things like that? I’m doing everything one is supposed to do (print out, read loud, triple checking, etc.) but still can’t get everything right. It is a real burden to my team when we try to post in the data room or send to counter parties. I’m a third year, and I know those mistakes shouldn’t happen with my YOE but god I wish I could stop them!
I am doing relatively well in my firm, and have been told to apply for promotion to senior assoc (1 year ahead of peers). However I have been feeling burnt out and am unsure whether I want to be doing law in 20 years’ time. My wife wants me to quit private practice and I have an opportunity to go in house. However I am concerned that if I go in house, future remuneration will suffer and I may not be suitably challenged. Any thoughts?
For those of you at firms that have DEI/affinity groups, can you let me know if your firms have a Jewish affinity group for self-identifying Jewish associates and/or staff, and, if so, how this fits into your firm’s DEI goals (i.e. on the sliding scale between welcome participation or benign neglect).
Has anyone been a U.S. Lawyer and tried to practice in England? And any tips for making the transition?
I feel like I just can’t enjoy life. Just when I thought everything was right on track and looking promising and there’s something I look forward to, an unexpected turn always hit me hard in the face and put me in a shit show. Work wise, personal life wise, all the same.
Leaving to Clerk in the Fall: Bonus Considerations.
I am leaving to clerk for a federal district judge in September. I expect that I will return to my current firm after. Should I expect some kind of handshake offer/discussion before I leave? And, if so, has anyone heard of bonus negotiations being a part of that conversation? It doesn’t seem feasible to ask for my 2022 when I leave in September, but what about asking for my full year-end bonus when I return in 2023 (rather than prorating)?
Which redline software do you use?
What office chair do you use? Max $500 please 😂

$200k salary. No loans. Mid 20s. What should I be doing with my money? Buy property? Index funds? Thank you in advance!!!
Can I hear from other big law associates working generally normal hours (45-50 hours a week). I feel guilty, so many people in this bowl seem to be working just insane hours that I’ve never met. I like my practice just fine because the work is reasonable. I’m a litigator in a niche group for context. Who else is lucky? Lol
Bonuses at Dentons - Mid level, making market in a big city and hit my hours (annualized) for the year. What can I expect around bonus time?
Public service announcement: please update your bio. I am in-house counsel and I regularly check bios and/or LinkedIn if you’re working for me or across from me, and I am shocked at how many senior associates and even partners in biglaw have no bio, no representative transactions, etc. You’ve already done the work, show it off! Such an easy way to sell yourself (and such an easy way to leave me wondering if you’re qualified if it’s missing).

I'm honestly not sure... it makes sense for there to be a split in comp in big law firms I think...
But I can't imagine why a big law firm would affirmatively come out as the first firm to be below market this quickly. It just doesn't make sense unless it's a mistake/oversight...
🤷♀️Idk, it's been confusing with all of the raises and re-raises. Especially since the junior rates didn't change on this last go-round.
I could almost see the comp getting submitted for approval last week and then accidentally getting sent out once it was approved. I find partners are much less focused on tracking associate pay increases than associates are.
RS is usually pretty quiet. I know they matched last year's market (from a friend in their NY office) at all locations, but it never made it to ATL. They were slow to match last year, but my friend (NEP) said they are internally commited to moving up a tier in terms of prestige in the next few years (I guess they have a 4 year plan). I would expect a match at some point, but will probably be later in the year. I always thought of them as more of a lifestyle firm, so good for their associates if they match.
It was only a matter of time before there was a split even in highly ranked and prestigious firms. A&P is (surprisingly given their notoriety) nowhere near as profitable as the heavy NY hitters. I’d assume this difference will grow in the years to come.
How do you know not match?
Friends at Reed Smith, Crowell, and JD says they aren't matching. None of those are particularly shocking.
All of the offices matched. Now, but with the new market $, it’s a different story. If what A3 says is right, hopefully we’ll see an announcement soon.
At Reed Smith but hasn’t heard anything one way or another yet, unless your friend has more inside info
