Is anyone else out there really struggling with typos, section references, or things like that? I’m doing everything one is supposed to do (print out, read loud, triple checking, etc.) but still can’t get everything right. I am doing relatively well in my firm, and have been told to apply for promotion to senior assoc (1 year ahead of peers). Leaving to Clerk in the Fall: Bonus Considerations.

I am leaving to clerk for a federal district judge in September. I expect that I will return to my current firm after. Should I expect some kind of handshake offer/discussion before I leave? And, if so, has anyone heard of bonus negotiations being a part of that conversation? It doesn’t seem feasible to ask for my 2022 when I leave in September, but what about asking for my full year-end bonus when I return in 2023 (rather than prorating)?
