Art Directors and Designers, what does your WFH work station look like? I’d like to upgrade mine to be more robust than just my laptop.

Lol yeah it turned out to be waaay cheaper than trying to buy it already made. Ikea also has some nice countertops too but alot of them are laminated particle board so I went for Home Depot 👍

I am just using the edge of my kitchen island. Perfect height for sitting or standing. Our agency sent out an email after a week of WFH telling people they could take their monitors and chairs home with them if they wanted to. I grabbed my monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but think everyday about driving back to get my chair. Lol.

Lucky! Get your chair, I realized a good chair helps me be more productive.

Honestly the second screen comes in clutch. I work on my second couch/coffee table because the kitchen table wasn’t big enough for my partners desktop and my giant Mac screen. Also consider scratch disks if your laptop if running things slowly. I currently have a company provided 13” MacBook Pro with like 16gb of ram and it needs the scratch disks to run photoshop, and premiere at the same time.

@ad3 it’s an Apple led Cinema Display 27inch. And scratch disk is basically a formatted hard drive (don’t save anything on it formatting it will lose all information stored on it) that you can use to run temporary data and files from photoshop or any adobe program really that needs a lot of extra space to run. I would recommend one if you’re doing a ton of high res comps in photoshop or if you’re using premiere pro and aftereffects regularly.

I have very limited home space. But: I bought a second hand desk at a thrift store for $100 bucks. Bought a second monitor. Bought some big huge sticky post it paper so I can write on my walls. Bought a butt and lumbar support cushion to attach to a chair I had.

Anyone else tired of the assumption that because you’re a partner you have to think a certain way and believe certain things. I’m talking about wokeness, work from home, and the recent ever constant pushing of the needle to the left or risk getting “cancelled”. I’m fairly liberal politically so for me to be saying this I think may say something for the current climate. I should be able to hold and express my own opinions without being quashed because I’m not “woke” enough.

I’m trying to hop between big 4 consulting roles. Presently, I’m a life science PhD and MBA hire to EY with 3+ YOE as a Senior consultant/associate. Do I have any shot at manager roles assuming I focus on life science roles? I’m concerned my lack of manager title kills any chance I have of joining another firm as a manager.
